I renovated the Goth's 2014 basegame into a Gothic-Brutalist mansion

The Goths are basically like the Addams family. They seem creepy and weird, but they're actually perfectly nice. It's the Landgraabs and the Altos in the Sims 3 who are in a rivalry about being THE family of the town. Also, Sims 1, 2, and 3 are all on the same timeline. Sims 2 happens 20 years after Sims 1 and Sims 3 happens before Sims 1 (Bella and Mortimer are children in Sims 3, for instance). For Sims 4 they just did whatever, gave some sims the same names, and didn't carry through any of the lore. :|

Well, there is like a master theory that connects everything and is kinda amazing, I think plumbella did a video on it once. Personally I chose to believe it cause it makes things much crazier and interesting for the lore..

I had a save where the Goth's had died in a house fire and the family (Mon, Dad, teen boy, female child) moved in and redecorated the Gothic house into a bright, modern house. The Goths are ghosts also living in the house and hate the new look and haunt the new family. Fun ensued.

Probably the best renovation I've seen for the Goths so far because their mansion is screaming "old money" to everyone who sees it and that suits Goths. This feels so much larger, realistic and impressive than the EA version. I would definitely do Alexander's room on the 3rd floor attic like in the Sims 3 :)

That glow is sweat...from the heat of the lights. She is gorgeous, yes., but that glow isn't a good thing. Celebrities CAN cook just like turkeys. Do you want her around, or in the hospital? Clearly, she listens to her comments a bit closely. Light can cook, not simply heat. Humans feel a bit superior to animals, but I assure you...we roast the same...and it smells just as good.

I LOVE these renovation videos - they have really inspired me. The Goth home is pretty much untouched in my game as I never knew what to do with it to enhance it but now I have some ideas on how to fix it up for a new sim family to live in 🎉 Side note, The Goths to me were always a contemporary version of The Addams Family 😂

I have always wanted to either renovate or find someone else's renovation of the Goth Mansion, and I feel like this is one of the best ones I have seen. The floor plan makes a lot more sense. I like how you have mostly maintained the original shape of the house. It's a pity that Alexander finally has a proper bedroom in this one, yet in my one save, Alexander randomly died of embarrassment seconds after aging up to a young adult. I just rolled with it.

Deli, my office is the same way. You HVAC system probably isn't big enough to handle the total square footage and since your room is at the end of the house it doesn't have enough force to push as much air all the way to your room. I got a little standing/portable AC for mine. They're a bit expensive but so worth it on those hot days! Love the reno! Absolutely gorgeous!

regarding your office being hot, if you close vents in other rooms you're not using when you're in the office, that should direct more airflow down that way. Or you could see if there is some debris or a hole in the ducts between your office and the nearest cool room (if it's a hole or break in the ducts, then repairing it will keep you cooler and probably save you money too.) Great video as usual!

What a wonderful renovation, Deli! I started with Sims2 and Bella and Cassie were my very first Sims to die (kitchen fire) and widowed Mortimer eventually ended up setting up house with Bob Newbie. So Sims4 has been my first chance to play them as a family. In my primary save file (i have two parallel worlds, with a little bit of story crossover between), they'd had six kids and filled the household about the same time I read about the Bella disappearance lore. So she has "disappeared", but in truth only changed her name to go into deep Agency cover due to a dangerous alien invasion that resulted in the deaths of the Landgraabs. Thinking she's died as well, Mortimer and Bob Pancakes have now gotten together and moved the Goth-Cake kids (Cassie came up with the nick) to Henford-On-Begley after Mort inherited an old family farm there. In the second save file, Mortimer is the one who's gone missing and Bella is trying to raise Cassie, Alex and Jesse (Geoffrey's child, actually) on her own. She's started to renovate Mort's old family house, but you've done a stellar job here, so maybe she'll just download a new place altogether! Love the walkway upstairs, and an empty attic like that leaves plenty of room for those 6 tile school projects!! Thank you for everything!! :D

Absolutely love the walkway! In a house I've seen IRL with that kind of design, they had like a long hanging light on both sides of the bridge, it felt really fancy. Also a big aquarium! I'm curious to see how you would renovate other big houses in the Sims 4 :)

The Goth's do indeed have magic in the bloodline dating back to Lady Ravendancer Goth, who is only referenced as being an ancestor from like the medieval times. Lady Ravendancer's spellbook was an item in the Sims 3 store.

Getting my info from Plumbella’s Entire History of series, which is great. I never really played TS3 that much. But basically, both seem to be true. She’s a ghost AND a child in that game.
