first of all, you could at least spell pirate right... second of all, people who buy emulation hardware arent just pirating games, youre stereotyping users. i could say for myself i own a gba hardware clone and have roms yes, but i also own the actual games (and two gba systems being the micro and gba sp) because i believe in supporting companies/services and products i like. we arent all pirates just because we use emulation hardware, we just wanna be able to play our games all on one machine without carrying around 20-30 game cartridges.

I have used my GPD XD till it is nearly dead!! I love it so much and I am planning on buying another one once mine breaks Beyond use. Though I'm mad that there's still been no announcements on the GPD XD 2!! But to continue posting about the GPD XD nearly all the videos on my gaming channel are recorded on my GPD XD, Nvidia Shield, and my Android phone. It's an amazing product and I love it!!

My red GPD XD arrived today. It's an astounding device. Firstly, a video doesn't do justice to how beautiful the deep rich color and glossy finish looks when you see it for yourself. No other portable comes in a color and finish this hot. Every button and stick feels exactly how I wanted them to. But most important, mine came packed with additional goodies that I haven't seen included in any of the GPD XD unboxing videos I've watched. In addition to the screen protector, power brick and charging cable, my GPD XD also came packed with a pair of high quality ear buds as well as 5 replacement rubber covers for the analog sticks! For anyone looking for a portable gaming device, my advice is to buy this immediately. It's going to impress the hell out of you, guaranteed. Awesome, awesome awesome gaming device.

None of the 64GB red unboxing videos I've seen show or mention anything about the extra analog covers and earbuds I got, so I was psyched when I found them included in the box, especially the 5 extra rubber stick covers. Very glad to get those. I also ordered mine very recently as opposed to many of the videos I've watched which are often several months old, so it may be something they've included recently. Either way, man do I love this thing.

I was thinking of getting the GPD xd since it's cheaper but the lack of Bluetooth is huge deal breaker for me. Having to get extra accessories like a usb hub or whatever to play with friends is extremely inconvenient. For emulation, indie and old pc games, and even light productivity, the GPD win seems like a much better value for the money. I'm thinking of getting a win and a couple of 8bitdo controllers for when I have friends over. I'm not sure how you could choose the xd over the win when the GPD win clearly has the advantage over it.

Android 4.4 has the benefit of incorporating the optimizations of recent Android versions while retaining the lightweight userland from older Android. It also is a lot closer to traditional Linux. This means you can turn this into a full PC

The thing is: if you run timing-sensitive stuff like Thousand Year Door on it, I bet you will have problem hitting button at the right time as it is on Dolphin emulator even with much stronger hardware. As for The Switch alternate, yes, but it won't run any today games, and there are some pretty great games already.

Unfortunately, I searched a lot. I did not find a mobile device for Android games. It runs old games and emulators. It also supports the operation of modern Android games. It also updates the new Android systems. This device has the operation buttons next to the touch screen.

TLDR: when ordering from China, use registered airmail to avoid Canadian customs. I've never purchased from gearbest but recently purchased a cheaper laptop from geekbuying their competitior a d I must say it's a really sketchy experience. My product arrived in 15 days via registered airmail which was supprisingly faster than expected and it works like a charm. My advice is to use registered airmail when shopping from China. They declared my purchase as a "laptop, valued at $14usd, and personal gift" (complete bullshit to avoid customs). Canadian customs held it for like 6 days which is rather short and since Canada Post picked it up from Vancouver to Toronto I wasn't charged any duties. I've heard horror stories of people using express shipping with DHL and other getting hit with upwards of $70 import taxes.

The nvidia shield tablet is awesome! You can connect a wireless ps4 controller to it, though you would have to change the bluetooth mac address. My hori rap4 also connects to it. It has a hdmi mini out so you can connect it to a tv.

Do the included emulators use the concept of Save States? Having grown up with PC games as a child, I really didn't like the structure of saving in console games. (Save points, checkpoints, etc.) So for me the idea of Save States is kind of a must.

Weasely about input lag and slowdowns. For real, these are 2 of the 3 primary concerns for any emu platform. If you used it a lot, you could tell us some games that perform well to give an idea. Controller inputs were covered nicely this should be the primary concern for any handheld, it's the tools you'll be using for hours and hours.

Oh man, I think you'd be interested in the Open Pandora and soon to be released Pyrabox. Basically complete unique portable handheld systems mostly used for emulating games. The Open Pandora, released in 2010 was already able to play some N64 games and many different emulators for various games and a whole damn ton of homebrew games as well. The Pyra is going to be even better! I own an Open Pandora and I've been using it for a long time to play my favorite old snes games mostly. But yeah, that's why I think you'd be interested in those devices as I've not seen them reviewed on your youtube and they are exactly up your alley!

Hey Izzy. I've had my red GPD XD for about 6 months now, and I'm still playing it constantly. I've never enjoyed a portable as much as this one. All the buttons still work great, and nothing has come loose or come off. I have a pair of Cinemizer OLED goggles that I use with an FPV racing drone, and they easily hook up to the GPD XD with no bulky setup mess. When you wear them it looks like you're sitting in the middle of a dark movie theater. The screen looks huge, and it renders in 720p just like the GPD's screen so the games look awesome. It has individual focus diopters for each eye so the clarity is great. And the earbuds are built right in. Have you tried using FPV goggles as your monitor? It's such a great way to play and enjoy this portable.

Super easy: I installed TVLauncher, then applied a bunch of custom pixel art icons I spent an entire day creating ;D I uploaded them all to the TVLauncher online library, so if you install the same apps as me, and tap and hold to change their icons, my pack will load up. It’s dead easy!

I want one really bad but I'm super leery about shipping something from China. Especially with the horror stories I see about how hard it is to get any kind of service if anything is wrong with it. Long waits for shipping, spending a bunch of shipping to ship malfunctioning ones back to China, or even getting them to reply to any complaints/questions. Does anyone know of an American warehouse that stocks these? I'd pay a little extra for being able to actually communicate with the seller. The bad stories are obviously in the vast minority, but I tend to have bad luck with these deals. Thanks for any help.

The GPD Win, can play fallout 3/New Vegas, oblivion/skyrim and even Fallout 4 with the right mods. It won't play FO4 well, but it'll play it. Which has the GPD XD beat. Though Reicast for Android is probably the best dreamcast emulator available. Reicast for PC is super slow, but reicast for android playing on the Nox Android Emulator on the PC actually runs better than the native Reicast PC version.

+TheGoldjinjo I played on the Xperia Play only briefly, but the GPD XD blows it out of the water in every aspect. Dual analogs, better screen, MUCH better battery, bigger game library. I wish the concept behind the Play was experimented with more, though!

@Omega _Dragonis ok thanks. I might get it soon i have never set up emulation except 2 times. A long time ago. some one helped me set up the first emulator. But there are some games I want to play on older consoles so I think it might be better if I buy this instead of those older consoles. Because it will have more variety and I don’t have to take all those older consoles that are portable with me in a bag.

Running emulater on my android, pretty high end phone, still can't run god of war prefect, almost smooth. Just some motion and sound delay. Other wise the program increase the graphics of any games. Any one has the same problems playing on s8 and up?

Yep, you can run RetroArch. I've never liked it, though, so I stick with a bunch of stand alone emulators.
