I was quite impressed by the demonstration and the two blades Mike. You did well for the first time of use mate

I always keep one on my grinder. Saves time when I chainsaw a bowl blank with a corner that's a little to big to clear the bed ways. It is very aggressive.. almost scary. lol I try to go slow, and I wear a face shield as well.
@NickSpirov5 жыл бұрын
I also use it for that! Got the 115 cm so it fits my battery grinder, which is not used for more serious cutting anyway. Together with the light grinder makes a very handy tool.

I am very impressed with its performance, but practice needed to control it. Cheers Mike

Hi Mike...informative video....2 points....you should bring the guard round a little to protect your fingers on the handle , it also makes the angle of cut easier....second point...I was very dissapointed with the end of the video...I know you probably didn't have time to show the whole carving process but I feel you could have put some pictures up at the end to show us the completed Rampant Stag carving or was it a bear on its hind legs ( difficult to tell at that early stage ) ...yours in anticipation of the final pics.....All the best.....Andy

Thanks for the very objective review, Mike. I have been building up some power carving assets this year and not really got around to using them. The Graff tools look far more aggressive than those I have, which would be an asset to start off any project. Just looked up the price of these and surprising cheap enough to get them both and have them on standby. Thanks for sharing.

I was impressed with the amount of wood it chewed through with ease William ... but it needs care and practice to get the most fom it. Cheers Mike

Hey Mike, Great video as usual. I'm interested in the setup you have with the chuck mounted on some sort of gimbal and that mounted on the tool rest. It looks to be very useful. Can you elaborate on it or do a video? Thanks.

Very good review on the carving discs. It could be useful in pen turning and I'm glad you didn't cut through your carving jig. I tried a similar disc and nearly cut though a 3" bowl blank until I got used to it.😃😃 Take care James
@MikeWaldt5 жыл бұрын
Hi James ... very aggressive blade, but feel with practice, and in the right hands (not mine) it could be very useful. Cheers Mike
@nikgiak29944 жыл бұрын
It does kick alot, even with the right angle and slow movements. Like 4:37 .The kicks are very unpredictable. I bought one, it does remove alot of materials very fast. For carving I recommend the Kutzall Extreme. 0 Kickbacks. Thank you for the review Mike.

Hi Mike Just wondering if it gave any kick back while you where cutting both bits of timber
@NickSpirov5 жыл бұрын
No kickback, it goes through the wood as if it is styrofoam.

No Stephen, but it can dig in and "skate", so light pressure needed always. Cheers Mike

Hi Mike, Nice insight to the capabilities of the two blades. Power carving is not something I would imagine ever getting into but just one question, we don't normally know where the nails are in a piece of wood so how does the Speedcutter cope with nails if it comes across one during its job. Cheers, Huw
@MikeWaldt5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Huw, judging by the way it sliced through those two 3" nails I don't think there would be a problem. Cheers Mike
