Tony probably did a much more accurate portrayal of ipman than donnie yen, or at least I like his portrayal better. The grandmaster is a very different action movie, it much more focus on the internal side of martial art, very interesting to learn about the external and internal martial arts.

Who did a better job playing ipman, that is up to viewers to decide, but u guys do not give donnie yen any credit by putting down another actor that play the same role, it just make u look stupid...what u r comparing is not the actors themselves but the role they play so what does it matter if tony is an actor and not a real martial artist, he went through tough training for this movie while donnie yen probably does not need much training for the same role, so give credit where credit is due.

No, I think Donnie does a better job at showing the style, while I think his movies actually do a better justice to the life of Yip (Ip), I think this is just a better done cinematic action film that is more pleasing to the eyes in the fights because of the shots. Both set of movies and actors are good, I just enjoy Donnie's more overall.
