No, they squandered 2 very good defensive coaches. They wasted a cost efficient young roster. Under utilized kittle's career. Haven't truly invested in the offensive line. The offense has not evolved without Kyle's smart assistant coaches(see mcvay, McDaniel, lefleur). I'm not saying they are the best coaches, but teams are copying. Kyle's should be the innovater while everyone else is playing catch up.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the 49ers are possibly not even a playoff team. Maybe a wild card but Seattle and Arizona will both challenge for the NFC West. The defense played HORRIBLY yesterday. Keep playing like that and they won' make the playoffs. Nick Sorenson's defensive scheme was poor and Shanahan seemed completely befuddled by Brian Flores' defensive schemes. The defense got schooled by Sam Darnold. Sam Darnold looked like Tom Brady in his prime out there for crying out loud.
