I really, really love this book. I've read it in February and this is one of my favorite books of the year so far. It has also made me want to read all of Steinbeck's books. 😍

I had a similar reaction o the intercalary chapters, but from the very beginning. It was a brilliant decision my Steinbeck.

Omg that whole "liking a book but loving it a from a specific moment on" is what i'm experiencing rn with my current book. Tbh i've been thinking of revisiting this book (last time i read it, it was for school, and we all know how well that goes...) but now this review truly solidified my decision. Looking forward to your next vid!

Me too. I was so invested in this family, I cried with them, I was angry at the injustice of it all, and I loved them for being who they were. I really want to read it again.

I think you might have talked me into reading this. My favourite way to learn history is by novels. I loved East of Eden so much that I’ve put off reading this one because it sounded grim. Thanks as always for an excellent review. Deb

That's great, Deb! I haven't read East of Eden yet, but I'm looking forward to it. If you read The Grapes of Wrath, I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
