Inspiration moved me brightly....I remember where I was the first time I listened to my first Dead song, I mean other than casey Jones...A friend have left his tape by "mistake" in my car and I listened to it driving and soon I sparked one up and the rest is history...I sold everything and hitchiked cross country to follow these cats...

Nothing really moves me quite like this song. Not sure if anyone else gets this feeling with some music, but a lot of times, especially with Dead songs, I get a sense of extreme familiarity even though I have never even heard the song before. When I first heard this, that feeling was so strong. Really beautiful.

I just cleaned my bathroom and kitchen - listening to my entire Terrapin Station CD after not hearing it in some time. Then I come to KZbin to listen to Terrapin again, and find they're calling it a great cleaning song...what a kosmic koincidence!

The first time I saw them, they were still the Warlocks. The last time I saw them was their last California Concert. Took 45 minutes to find parking. Looked at the street sign and it said, Garcia Street. Driving home that night we got 2 flat tires. We pulled over at the side of the highway and there was a sign that said, Adopt a Highway - Greatful Dead Fans. What's that about a long journey it's been.

Notice I commented "written", yes it was released in 77, but written a little earlier when they were obviously absorbing some of those influences, although I should have checked the years before making that comment. I like this better than any other Dead by far - I dig the symphonic stuff and the time they took to get a GOOD recording. I am also disappointed there isn't more output by them of this genre. Sucks that this is the first thing you've heard by them. Oh well, enjoy it for what it is.

actually, im pretty sure this came out in 77 when prog was starting to settle, not right in the heat of it in like 70-73. and trust me, i can play all of supper's ready in my head by heart. love yes too, though ive never got very familiar with ELP, i have heard some stuff. but that sucks, this was the first greatful dead song i had heard so i was under the impression that they were a prog band in general, oh well

With all the talk of 'cleaning", let me say that Terrapin IS a cleansing song, as dictated by the Terrapin and the Harvest. Blessings to all of you on this Harvest moon, and Autumnal Equinox. Remember to LOVE One Another, unabashedly and unapologetically. Bring in, cast off, dance like a fool and create the change you need for this new year. If you get confused, you should know what to do by now. Shhhhhhhhh.
