Life is so fleeting….Brandon was only 22 yrs old when he died, and now it’s 22yrs later, when he Would have reached 44, had a wife, family, good job and all been enjoying life together. But sadly this was not to be, or for the young boy who was also killed. When we are young we think of ourselves as pretty much immortal…we will live forever! Then we lose grandparents, then to our horror maybe a sibling, and then our parents, and we find ourselves visiting the Drs surgery more and more often, about silly little things we would once have brushed aside! And another shock, finding your Gp over the years has either passed away or retired, and now your doctor doesn’t look old enough to shave, and the nurses look too young. You meet some old school friends while there, and it comes as a shock that these old men, going bald, with walking frames or canes, are the same age as you! All young lads and grads together! But in the blink of an eye you suddenly realise just how fast your life has gone! More people have been born, grown up and now do the job you used to do. It’s a sad fact that we don’t realise how very fragile life is when we are young, or just how fast it will go, so it’s our turn to return to Heaven, to see Jesus Christ again, and hopefully meet with loved ones who went ahead. So please, take note from my story, just how very precious life is, that this isn’t a test run, this really is the life we have been given and must use well, making ourselves and loved ones with us as Happy as possible. Lots of precious memories to take with us, and if handy with video machines even on cameras now, memories taken on those too for grandchildren to watch and soak up. Life DOES go on, and Brandon will have witnessed it all, and been there to meet and greet loved ones and friends when they pass, and after a rest, may go on another adventure that Jesus has in mind for us, after a reasonable period of time for others coming later who need to rest. But be assured Jesus has more plans for us than a mere “three score years and ten!”!!! Many of us now live to be in our hundreds , which we never thought possible. Why! I myself at age 70 will be getting married to my partner of 20 plus years who is 74..both having been married before! So I’m very sure Jesus has a great deal of exciting adventures planned for us in the future, so I’m sure Brandon will be one of the names near the top of the list! God/Jesus always choose their best people first. Godbless you Brandon, enjoy the next exciting chapter! 💐🥰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Brandon has such an inspirational story and it sucks that he accidentally tripped up his QB in the 1998 season vs TN and I wish it had been a different player not that one is more important than the other and Im glad that we won that game but I guess now that everyone knows his story we (TN VOLS FANS) wish it was someone else

I just read the entire Brandon Burlsworth story and watched the film. This death is and remains a tragedy. This was a very fine young man who made his mark by being a dedicated, hard working, goal driven person whom many young men should do their best to emulate. My condolences to his brother and most certainly Brandon’s Mother who herself is an amazing individual. It was a pleasure to read bud watch Brandon’s story. It is a shame this happened to such a fine individual.
