I was a writer/producer on a Canadian TV show in the late 90s. We hired Corey as a guest star for an episode at a time when no one else would give him a job. When we were on set, I guess he heard that I was a fan and a big supporter of hiring him. He came over and gave me a big hug. He was so glad to be working again. It was heartbreaking. Poor kid… more than a “lost boy,” he was a lost soul. I hope he found some peace.

It really broke my heart when I learned this, and cemented the fact that he was a genuinely good soul. I’d always heard he loved animals. When I heard that he’d wander around his apartments, looking for anyone just to talk to, it made me so sad. I wish he could have realized the impact that he made on so many of us 80s babies. 😔 i remember corey haim from the eighties. he was a little cutie. all the girls in my class were crazy about him. they'd get 'teen beat' magazine and tear out the pictures of him and ralph macchio. he seemed like a good kid who grew to be a good, but troubled dude. i'm so sorry he had such a hard, hard way to go. rip, corey. 💙💫💙💫💙💫

He was my absolute favorite actor as a teen. My walls were covered with him. So many good movies, and I saw even the obscure ones like Prayer of the Roller Boys. Beautiful song choice for the Lost Boys montage as well. Such a sad end for him and so young.

I remember when Corey passed. I grew up watching The Two Coreys when I was a kid.. and enjoyed all of their movies. I was so sad (still am!) that Hollywood treated Corey as poorly as they did. Like the media was just brutal to Corey Haim, even more so after his passing. Tragic. Thank you for sharing this .. Rest well Corey

I stumbled across this video and had reservations about watching it, but I found it to be surprisingly respectful of this 80s icon.

I was born 72 and was growing up in 80s right along side of this guy. He was a pleasure to watch. So sad he couldn't ever deal with the permanent mental health issues that go along with abuses. However also refreshing just to honor him and not hover on that topic. R.I.P. Corey Haim you are lived.❤❤❤❤

I was a kid in the 80’s watching those magical performances both Corey boys gave in all the films they were in. I had no clue though that their personal lives were tragic. I have listened to the living Corey talk about the abuse they endured in Hollywood. I will always believe him. You can’t make that stuff up.

I’ll never forget (and I will always deeply appreciate) the joy Corey Haim’s movies gave me as a child of the 80s. I was heartbroken when he passed. I rarely get heartbroken over any celebrity. I still watch Haim’s movies any chance I get. He was a true talent IMO. He was excellent in The Lost Boys but Lucas is my personal favorite. He was amazing in Lucas. IIRC Lucas with Kerri Green put Haim on the map in Hollywood

Such a tragic loss. 💜 Love the two Corey’s so much. The movie the lost boys I will still watch it and I am 59 years old. I have never under stood why people want to use drugs. Why do they want to destroy themselves? I have never tried anything. I have depression and still don’t feel the need to do that. Have never had alcohol either. Broke my heart when he passed away!! 😢

Great job on this video, sir really well done from the heart it feels. I’m like you I guess I grew up knowing about him and seeing him and kind of thinking he was all right. I actually had a coworker tell me about some interesting encounters she had with Corey in the early mid 90s in Montreal (ville saint Laurent specifically)she happened to be living in the same apartment building as him and his mother. She told me one day that Cory Haim the actor came over knocking randomly introduced himself and was asking about getting some of the weed he must’ve smelt in the corridor. I couldn’t believe it. Cory Haim!? The famous actor from all those movies we all seen in the 80s, just randomly knocked on your apartment door introduced himself and asked about getting some weed. He’d be always Introducing himself to new girls as “hi I’m Cory Haim the actor, you can sleep with me if you want“ like if it was expected any young girl would automatically want to sleep with him😂. Rest in peace, Cory. Actually, now that I think of it, I remember this coworker of mine would tell me lots of stories about Corey. coming over and looking through the ashtrays for roaches, asking for small loans, etc. it all ended one day when Cory Haim’s mother came knocking at the apartment my coworker and her boyfriend shared and she asked them politely to not allow Cory to come over anymore because she was trying to get him clean to reboot his acting career. true story

People always judge addicts. They are trying to deal with past trauma. Don’t judge people because you never know what they have been through. I believe this man was hurt as a child by evil people. He just never learned how to deal with it in a healthier way.
