He definitely was the King of Tejano Music. Growing up in San Antonio Southside I got to see the rise of this legendary artist. We were fortunate to see him front David Lee Garza's band and then to become a solo artist. An amazing talent Emilio was during those days in the late 80s - mid 90s. After Selena's death the whole Tejano movement fell apart and Emilio took his show to Mexico where he also became a great hit. Emilio is truly missed and it was tragic he died at an early age. RIP Emilio

He is sorely missed by his fans and his music is loved by many - I still frequently listen to it while working. Women gets it too but men more so. Due to bad high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Poor dieting and poor health. Poor guy was jogging trying to either get in shape or keep in shape. May the KOT RIP.

True Tejano music fans vehemently disagree with you..... Ever heard of when original Tejano artists broke into the business?? Little Joe and the Latinaires {1959}, Joe Bravo {1959}, Ruben Ramos {late 1960's}, Mazz {1978}. Emilio was a rookie compared to those Tejano artists when he started in the business in the 1980's. No capitalization of names??
