My ex husband and I used to snow plow Gene's driveway, after Gilda passed away. He would watch us from the bedroom window. Seeing him wearing a nightshirt and nightcap, waving like a little kid was heartwarming. Gilda used to shop at my first job, she was the nicest woman. You wouldn't ever know they were such famous people.

I was the demo chef at the Food Emporium in New Canaan when Gilda was sick. Gene would come into the store with his tiny cutie pie dog hiding under Gene's armpit and the dog was so quiet that no one ever knew there was a dog in the store. Gene would always stop to talk to me and I would always give him a container of soup to take home to Gilda. He was a special man with no pretenses. For all that he was going through while the love of his life was dying, he could still look at you with his smiling eyes and want to chat about anything that was on his mind. I'm so glad that he met Karen after Gilda passed. I feel he was the kind of man who needed companionship and I'm glad that he and Karen were in love. I do wonder though if some part of his cremains were sprinkled over Gilda's grave. God bless both of them. They certainly were talented, kind, and caring people.

Hi Scott, Gene Wilder was the best one for Charlie and the chocolate factory. That’s a beautiful property he had. I love all the trees surrounding it.
