Great vintage footage. There is so much mystique about the past, but it is really sobering to be reminded that, while technology may give today's hobos more resources, they were dealing with the same challenges back then that hobos often deal with today. Situations change, but human nature remains the same.

It amazes me how similar some of these men look with the “Hobo Face”! I have always found Hobo’s fascinating since I was a child. I always dressed for Halloween like a Hobo! Growing up down in Louisiana, I would watch several Hobos in the area as a kid! Thanks for sharing their story!😊

I lived my life the traditional way and am very blessed but there’s a part of me that would love to do this; just ride the rails across this beautiful land. Nothing but what I can easily carry. No full time job, no responsibility, drink beer with friends and everything you do is your own choice. Must be quite a life indeed.

i just think it's pretty funny how you accidentally combined Glen Campbell and Roger Miller (no i didn't even think about the big band until later) I didn't listen to him nearly as much as i listened to Glen and Roger. And Roger was the one who sang King of the Road, which you probably already know is about a hobo. then again.... Glen Miller did sing Chattanooga Choo choo... not exactly about hobos, but it IS about a train :D

Hi Joslynn, I have also worked on the lumberjack doc film for Fogcutter and I may be able to upload a copy of it or send you a DVD if you'd prefer. It may take a while to find it in the archives. You'll need to email me with your mailing address at barrettproductions@outlook.com. I know Super Tramp is a member of the NHF but why so much of the music?
@RockinRobTV5 жыл бұрын
The Supertramp songs were added in post production (because I felt the film needed more music). Also because the messages & feeling of the songs just happened to accentuate the emotional messages of the various scenes. The film maker (Bobb Hopkins) was blown away when he saw the new cut and was happy to allow me to keep them in the film.

Today is May 30, 2024. If you think you’re never gonna get the chance to experience some of this you might want to start reading some books that fearlessly explain how central banking destroyed the US dollar. We are living in hyper inflation and on the fumes of a dead republic. 4 months from a major (s)election and gas in this region where there is little vibrant job market is $5 a gallon. Groceries up 109% in 3 years. Only those who instinctively know how to live outside the box will survive.

@loganstroganoff12849 ай бұрын
Most of those kids are so called gutter punks and a lot of them are shitbags that show up in towns and terrorize little old ladies and the like with their aggressive panhandling. They're not welcome in most of the traditional hobo waystations and in some they basically have a "kick my ass on sight" target on them from local business owners who won't tolerate their shit. In New Orleans their used to be a couple guys called the wrecking crew that would roughly remove them from your store or Bar front for a fee 😂
