THE GREAT BARRIER REEF - What is it like to dive there?

Thinking of diving the Great Barrier Reef. This video should give you a good sense of what you will encounter on your day on the reef.

Their packages are well priced offering the chance to snorkel and dive at a couple of locations. For our 2 dives we went to The Fingers at Norman Reef which I did some free diving at, and for teh 2nd location I scuba dived at The Playground at Normans Reef.

I'm a very novice free diver and scuba diver (I've only been free diving for less than 6 months, and this was only my 15th scuba dive), so I am absolutely stoked to come away with vidio like this. I'd imagine more experienced divers will capture even better imagery.
If you are interested in the equipment I used, I had a GoPro 11 running Labs firmware. This firmware allows me to enable auto white balance lock when I am underwater. This feature gives me consitant colour balance, resulting in stunning imagery from a GoPro. Labs firmware also allowed me to boost my bit rate to 160Mb/S which also gives me more detail at high frame rates.

Lastly, I highly recommend the NEW Telesin All Scene Protetcive Dive Case. Telesin have updated this dive case with a new super clear hydrophobic lens, and I am blown away each time I use this case as to how clear my images come out. I also use a Telesin dive rig with lights which helps me record smooth stable video, with the lights also helping to bring out the colours off the reef and marine life.

Thanks Col. I loved the free diving parts of the video the best myself. I was free diving with Anna that you see at the end of the video. It was hard for us to get these shots as we had no weights, and the tinest of fins, so we both had to use really good technique to get down to depth and stay down... and I'm glad we did, I think these are some of my best underwater clips so far.
