Ladies this is gold and leap jumped over Jeopardy as my ‘who’d have thought’ this would be my favourite thing?! Alison Hammond is our current national treasure and I beg you to search for her on KZbin. Her laugh is pure joy. Already excited for the next episode

Ladies this was wonderful!!!!! They were talking smack in the show about blueberries but I love blueberries, especially a blueberry/lemon combo, so that’s probably the flavors I would have chosen for one of the bakes.

😂😂you trying to do the Jay and Adam schpeel at the end was AMAZING! I’m literally crying right now. Thanks for a laugh to end my day! Loved this and looking forward to more. I think it’d also be fun to see you react to Nailed It. I like it better than British Bake Off because the judges have to be nice lol which leads to hilarious lines like “well…you did something…”😂

Regarding rhubarb, strawberry rhubarb pie is my dad's favorite pie! I'm in the PNW and rhubarb grows like a weed and is also perennial so there's a lot of opportunities for experimentation
@sarahmattingly6971 Жыл бұрын
Rhubarb crisp is my favorite. Basically, an apple crisp recipe but substitute rhubarb and add more corn starch to make it thicken up. And I usually double the amount of the crisp topping. 😅
@cmlemmus4945 ай бұрын
Rhubarb is a very common ingredient here in Canada because it grows from coast to coast, at least in the south (which is where most of the population is), and it's easy to grow in a small garden. My great-grandmother baked a rhubarb crisp in the 1910s in Ontario, my grandmother used the same recipe for my father in Manitoba in the '50s, and my mother learned it from her and still makes it every year in BC, over 100 years later (and 4,000km east).

Yes BSL is completely different from ASL. There's often a misunderstanding that sign language is just the local spoken language but in sign. That's not the case. Sign languages are independent languages of their own with their own vocabulary and grammar. For example the alphabet for BSL is completely different than the alphabet for ASL, they look nothing alike. It's also very localized like how Tasha gave Paul Hollywood and Alison Hammond sign names. Those aren't universal, it's just what she uses and then Darryl has been using her signs. It's fantastic to see the representation on TV of someone who signs and speaks.

Very fun to watch. Haven't watched British Bake Off specifically before (other than one celebrity episode with Michael Sheen). And great react, very comfy ^_^ As a Swiss person, I was very confused about that being called a "Swiss Roll" cause while I know the dish, I don't think it's much of a Swiss thing. More Austrian :D
@dani.p Жыл бұрын
I've never watched "The Great British Bake Off" but this was sooo fun. However, now I want some cake and it's midnight 💔😆 PS: the whole beaver part... hilarious 😂 Oh, about the final question: I think that my signature flavour is pastry cream (custard?). So easy and creamy and light😊. And because strawberry season's starting over here, yesterday I made a dessert with pastry cream (as a base) and then I put chopped strawberries on top, sooo easy and good! BUT, I must say that even when I really enjoy cooking, baking is not my thing mainly because I don't like having to measure ingredients🙃so I'm more a "lunchs and dinners" kind of girlie 😆 Hugs from Chile 😊

@36:00 - The word Paul used was "more-ish" as in you want to eat more. Usually used for snack foods like chips where you eat one at a time until the bag is gone. The Shakespearean insult was "Moorish" referring to the mixed race (Berber & Arab) people of northern Africa and southern Spain in the late Middle Ages. It was an insult because it was drawing attention to darker skin colours.

More-ish - as in you want more. Moorish, belongs to or is characteristic of the Muslim civilization in North Africa and Spain between the 8th and the 15th century.
