|ABOUT|
I live and knit in Southern Ontario with my husband and my terrier. The name kuriaknits comes from my last name - Kurian. Kurian has Indian and Syrian origins and I feel lucky every day that my husband shared it with me.

I honestly think that the dark hair colour and the pastel lilac cardigan combo suits you extremelly well!

Omg I’m so excited about the MAL!! I bought wool from sheeps up in the Yukon when I was there and it’s so precious to me! I’ve also started a Cowichan Sweater out of vintage Canadian White Buffalo wool 🤩🤩🤩🤩

So excited for the Great Canadian MKAL! I just picked up a couple of skeins of yarn from Ancient Arts Yarns that is apparently produced from start to finish in Alberta - and I'm thinking I might even pull out my Briggs & Little yarn from deep stash to knit with for the MKAL 😄As always, loved seeing what you've been working on!

Two things :) one is that Heather Nolan is a Canadian designer with lovely patterns and secondly I definitely think frogging the blue sweater is thr way to go. If you don't love the fit and are worried about yarn chicken, then frogging will give you a peace of mind - either by destashing the yarn you don't like or rekinitting the sweater with less positive ease.

Your criss cross sweater/vest type thing sounds very similar to a Sontag - BunnyMuff recently published a pattern called Closer to Our Hearts

Maybe a stud fastener for your wrap then the knitted bow would just be for visual.

I’m excited about your Great Canadian MKAL! I’m just starting a secret test knit for The Petite Knitter, but should be able to post pictures of it before the KAL ends. ❤❤

Thank you so much for telling me about Wellington Fiber. I am a Canadian that wants to buy more Canadian yarns. I would like to suggest that you knit the Lento sweater with the lovely blue yarn that you have. The Lento is knit with a fingering weight yarn doubled with a mohair, so you are all set. Enjoy creating!!

put the blue sweater in a bag and hide it in the back of a closet and forget you have it.

Your Saubel top/pullover is very pretty! Love the idea of Canadian MKAL. Question...when you buy second-hand yarns what is the best method to wash them? Do you do it while still in the skein?

If I’m going to wash before using I usually pull the skein apart but keep it in the large loop it creates. This ensures the water will reach all of the yarn and it will dry a little better.

I've only been able to watch half of the episode, but I don't want to forget to ask...for the KAL, are WIPs allowed?
