The great Changuito.

Here's an example of the mind-blowing independence that can be achieved through hard practice. Changuito, aka - El Mysterioso, aka - the man with two brains, is seen in 2003 or 2004 (not quite sure when I filmed this) here playing at a small outdoor venue in Havana Vieja called "La Jungle." Being so far off the beaten path, the venue didn't last very long due to lack of tourist dollars. Instead of salsa the venue focused on the music of Son, Rumba, Changui, bata, Yoruba, ect.

Imaginense, si uno se pusiera a creerles a las revistas, ¿en que mundo vivieramos?, locinty !despierta¡ la realidad es otra el timbal como instrumento se lleva a su maximo nivel en un solo pais CUBA, ¿porque? porque se toca de corazon y con full tecnica.

i respect Changuito because all odds the guy did what he wanted to do with his music and specifically his drumming Drummers form all over the world come to Cuba sit at his feet and learn from Changuito
