I refuse to pay so much for it. The UK version is much cheaper, but I don't think it's numbered. And now they are re-releasing them on steelbook! I can't start re-buying them all, but maybe I'll get Unholy if they re-release it. The Gate looks good on steelbook too.

I would recommend maybe keeping some bonus discs and inserts with your blu-ray copies when you upgrade.

Not gonna lie, I like the DVD home menus compared to Blue-Ray most of my old DVD have menus you can play with. Am actually thinking of Upscaling some of my DVD because I do like the menu option. I have a Sony UBP-X700/M Blu-Ray played that plays all regions and upscales DVD & Blu-Ray very good. My Xbox sucks at playing DVD because it doesn’t upscale. When I buy physical media I go for the DVD+Blu-Ray+Digital. If not Blu-Ray + Digital. Am currently in the process of digitizing my physical media and having my own Back up library.

Yea there really isn’t a reason to keep dvds if you have upgraded it unless it’s your fave movie maybe or it’s really rare or there are special features on the dvd not on the blu ray if you care about that stuff

First disc out and you haven't even checked if you have it elsewhere. Second disc out has the fullscreen version of a film, which is hard to come by and a unique version, providing it is actually open matte and not pan and scan of course.

I confirmed that I have the Hulk on 4K, so I don't need the DVD. And I don't think that Spaceballs DVD is unique. The full screen/widescreen is on Amazon for under $10, just different artwork.

If something is unique, I'll definitely try to keep it. That's why I decided to keep the He-Man stuff. I tried to pick stuff that were basic releases or things I know I'll never revisit. As you know, space is a hot commodity in this hobby.

You kind of bring up a good point, but in relation to 4K releases that don't come with a bluray. I doubt bluray players will be hard to find, but 4Ks might be. So maybe I'll keep the bluray or dvd copy if the 4K upgrade doesn't come with a bluray. Thanks!

@@AdventuresintheNerdCave okay, it’s not because it’s rare or anything, but the Rob Zombies Halloween double feature you have are the theatrical cuts of the films(they’re very different than the unrated cuts, different scenes, ending, tone of the films). Until that double feature came out we never had the theatrical cuts on disc (people who saw it in theatres have been asking for the original cuts for years). theatrical cuts are still not available in any US release (the double feature actually a Canadian release). it’s always only the unrated cuts. If you get rid of it you’ll be getting rid of a different film than the unrated cuts imo, definitely worth keeping if you’re a Halloween fan.

@AdventuresintheNerdCave I totally get it. I have been a collector since 1999 myself. I have discovered that I have had to upgrade to Blu-ray and 4K since I keep finding ones that aren't playable anymore. Multiple times, I have discovered that I own several copies of the same films. I recently picked up a collection of Beavis and Butthead episodes, which came with the movie that I already own. It's something I'm constantly keeping an eye on now when adding to the collection. I have found that some older films don't transfer as well to 4K as Blu-ray, so I look to find out what it's like before making a new purchase.
