Sehr schöne Vergleichsaufnahmen der Drehorte - wie sie im Film zu sehen sind und wie sie 2018 aussahen. Was mich besonders gefreut hat: Die Holzhütte auf dem Fluchtweg des Bunkerkönigs war keine Kulisse, und sie steht immer noch. Da bekommt man richtig Lust, sich John Sturges' Klassiker sofort wieder anzuschauen. Klasse Video!

I have been a big this film fan since I was low teen for almost 50 years. In younger years,I visited this place as I liked castles. Now I learned I already have been to this place for 2 times without knowing this fact that this was filed here. I actually shocked to know it but at the same time I am a bit proud that I was drawn toward this place.

What a cool video. I would love to go to all these locations. This movie was a favorite of all the boys in my neighbourhood growing up in the 1960s Etobicoke On Canada. We were inspired to build underground forts with tunnels and play Great Escape. Even my late father who fought in the German army loved this movie.

Nicely done. But, today if Disney made this movie: Disney executives will say: "Where are the black, Asians, Hispanics, Muslims and transgender prisoners? Why didn't they escape with the whites? What do you mean "they don't look German"?" Of course they can be seen as Germans. You don't have to be an Aryan to look like an ethnic German." - an example of the Wonderful World of Disney. Look what Disney did to Star Wars, Marvel and Indiana Jones. I just hope they keep their hands off these classics.
