2:21 HEAVEN!! well i just love the tunes and movies, being honest they made the movies less cheesy than id thought the would've been, it truly actually touched me and I'm 13! My dad died on June 1st last year, and he was a fully bred Scot :) IDK why i said that :) but im half Scottish, and the spitting image of my dad, in a great way :) Everytime someone mentions the moves, i see posters and merchandise etc, or even watch them or listen to soundtracks or something like that it reminds me of my dad , ive always found bagpipes strangely fascinating... :) great music overall :D Thanks :)

The whole thing is a mix of melodies and repeated themes from the soundtrack to the movie "How to train your Dragon" by John Powell. What you're looking for is the first half of track 11, "Test Drive", but it's much more majestic in the Edinburgh version, than the album version.

No lie, I burst into tears the moment the bagpipes came out for Test Drive.

Flying with mother, battle of the bewilderbeast, together we map the world, dragon racing.. Those are my four favourites tracks from HTTYD 2. No-one else could have got those tracks across with such style.
@hihoshortstack9 жыл бұрын
AwesomeWinter John Powell did do the soundtrack for HTTYD 2. Look at the end credits lol it says in black and white "Music by John Powell" as well as the physical copy of the soundtrack. Also if you have the blu-ray and watch the making of HTTYD 2 you actually get to see him work on tracks such as For The Dancing and The Dreaming. He also worked with Jonsi as shown in the documentary.

I love how they interpreted the soundtrack their own way instead of just playing This is Berk, Romantic Flight, See You Tomorrow and Test Drive like almost all the others.

Id beg to differ, as I adore Test Drive. I love playing it near full volume in my car while driving, it is my favourite music ever. But then, its played on bagpipes here and being half a Scot, I love bagpipes too :P

Same here! I think it beats almost all movie soundtracks. The movie itself should be breaking records for how amazing of an animation it was. Most of dreamworks now a days seems to be based off that one movie. Or surrounding its major plot. Ya know?

@williamkendrick It may interest you to know that the bandsmen performing here are all currently serving in the british armed forces, some are infantrymen or marines, others are trained to work in NBC decontamination stations in event of a nuclear accident or attack. Show them some respect, even if you don't like this performance. by the way. the percussionists are playing what is known an off beat or syncopated rhythm - intentionally playing in the gap between the beats of the bar.
