Honestly, that scene with Yuri was so unexpected. They could have given us a satisfied death of an antagonist, but instead they decided to show his humane side in his final moments, which totally caught me off guard and made me kinda feel bad for him and his sons. His death left a huge impression on me, even after more than a decade.

I don’t think you understand that this tsunami was literally powerful enough to make it over all of India and then the Himalayas. Aka the tallest mountains on the planet. That means by this point the country of india was under about 4-5 miles of water. The mountains probably slowed it down for a brief time before enough water built up to send it flowing over the mountains.

Since these things are fully fucking capable of being underwater why didn’t they just seal up all the big ass doors in the mountain then load everyone up into the ships. Let the water and everything hit the big ass doors then once the worst part of the flood is done open the doors flood the chambers and then just float up to the surface? You ever been in the bath and moved too quickly? That's the same thing that happens in the movie. Earths crust is moving and then suddenly stopped. Making all the water move. If that happened in real life there's enough water to easily cover most of the world in a deluge kilometres high as it's the entire ocean that would be moving in 1 direction. But unlike the movie, The water would then recede back pretty quickly.
