I’ve had both and honestly I have to go with the carbon fiber. Not only is it lighter but it’s also way more durable. In my trade we work on scaffolds all the time and just hard to reach places. So contact with metal poles and rough cement is inevitable. The resin helmets chip at the brim super easily. even dropping your helmet might chip it pretty bad. The carbon fiber is bulletproof man I’ve hit that thing so hard lol nothing happens. Maybe a small scratch. It just depends on your budget and your trade though.

You would think that but Lift in particular has major issues when it comes to the cf weave chipping on the edges. I have a welding hood that is all cf and have never had any chips on the edges. The thing is paper thin and gets put through hell. Lift needs to get their shit together considering how much they charge for those things.
@danig.barreto20302 жыл бұрын
@@rmh_223 actually yes, my experience with resin helmet was with a Lift brand one. And the first week, on a scaffold it chiped at the front of the brim. Not enough to compromise the integrity of it but enough that you could tell right away. After that I kinda didn't care anymore and soon it had all kinds of chips. That's why I switched over to carbon fiber.

If you are not worried about electrical conductivity in your field of work the Carbon Fiber is likely the best option. They are probably one of the most comfortable hard hats you can buy. www.ohiopowertool.com/brands/lift-safety

Maybe something we can do in a future video. They have really nice fittings, and are easy to adjust. These are just floor displays. So sometimes we will sell the display if for any reason we are out of stock. But in future maybe we can have a rep come in with some demo units and we can mess around with them and show the way they adjust.

I’ve seen comments about the resins Lyft cap style being flimsy and the brim flexing when you pick it up, do you guys notice that with your stock or was that more of a one off?

My union always asks for the production/made dates and I noticed that all the fiber/resin hardhat never provide that information. They only allow to wear a hardhat 4yrs from that production date, I hate the appoved equipment, can someone help me obtain these production dates. I love these hardhats and miss being able to use these types of safety equipment

I was going to order one but it says it has some chemicals that can cause cancer i’m only 20 and new to work sites Could you maybe help me out ?
@killnme62123 жыл бұрын
I’m not really clear or an expert. I think that is a sticker that states the process and/or materials used are known to cause cancer. It’s to protect companies since you have been informed so you cannot seek compensation or sew. Most everything man made Is known to cause it. Got to have a brain bucket and these are great. I’m going to order a red or white Dax in a moment I was given the lift 50-50 but just found out it is not dielectric and I am a journeyman electrician. I’d worry about the dust and the cuts and abrasions on your hands. Continue to read those safety labels. 🇺🇸

Fyi, carbon fiber cloth, fiberglass cloth, etc, are all held together with resin. Without it, it's all just fabric. Only benefit of carbon over fiberglass is the strength/rigidity to weight ratio. That said, old-school fiberglass layups can be much more durable than new-school cheapy carbon stuff. Also depends a ton on the type and quality of resin used; polyester, epoxy, etc, the weave profile, quality, etc, of the base fabric, and so many other factors. In general, carbon is better than like quality fiberglass.

Thankfully that information is readily available and fairly easy to discover! The black hard hat on the right has a weight of 415g without suspension system and between 475-566g with suspension system. The brown one has a weight of 270g without a suspension system and 415g with a suspension system. Let us know if there's anything else we can do to help!

Great video and I like your product!, however I need to point out that head protection is not the most important part of safety on a jobsite, as a matter of fact if head protection comes into play in an incident at a jobsite then the most important parts of safety failed. All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including head protection is your LAST line of protection. Wear your PPE but more importantly, keep your heads on a swivel, watch out for each other and strive to work safely so it never has to be used other then to keep the sun, rain & snow off your head.
@OhioPowerTool2 жыл бұрын
That's a very good point! Communication is paramount in any relationship, of course, but at a workplace as potentially hazardous as a construction site, it's absolutely key! Like Smokey the Bear says, only YOU can prevent forest fires, and YOU should be the first line of defence for safety at the workplace. If everyone keeps everyone informed, everyone can stay as safe as possible! That being said, of course, PPE should never be taken lightly and should be worn at all times on the job, regardless of how safe you feel, until you enter an area where it isn't required (though even then, let's be real, you never know what could happen; you may want to hang onto it just in case)!

The dax lift carbon fiber hard hats are not light weight. They weigh more than the fiberglass resin and are even heavier than the plastic hard hats. 20% heavier. There are 2 companies that make lightweight carbon/kevlar hard hats which are 20% lighter and they are custom composites and carbon feather evolutions
