I felt sticky just hearing this one. It brings to mind the time I took my then 5 ish son to the A&W for a cone. It was summer and the cone was melting down his arm by the time we got onto the street. The main street of the city wherein we live. He was being very vocal about the melting instead of licking his hand. I did something VERY out of character. I reached into the back seat and grabbed that cone and tossed it out the window. He was so shocked. I am VERY anti littering and I also never would waste food like that.
