My wife of over 30 years and I have very different schedules and commitments. I make short trips of less than 6 weeks to go do fun things like this that I enjoy. I take my wife when she is able to go, but that is not very often. Ultimately, you need to do what keeps you happy, whether that's being a pirate or maintaining a good relationship with a good woman. I applaud you for making the tough decision of ending the trip where you did. Stay happy and safe. I'll be watching for your future adventures.

If you consider doing it again, you should look into a swap with a cruising family that wants to try out the homestead life. I imagine there’s got to be someone out there who would be interested in keeping the Minnesota property warm and lived in while you (and hopefully your partner) do the Loop. Sorry to hear things are where they are but I’m sure you will get back on your feet. I look forward to future updates from you.
