We did the loop in 22 and 23. That area is a must stop.

Thank you for taking us along on your journey. I love Georgian Bay! I worked at a summer camp as the Tripping Director and I chuckled at Julia’s comment, on her paddling background. I immediately pictured a group of sun-kissed young people in a “raft” of canoes, legs draped over each other’s gunnels, asking, “who has the food pack?” To walk barefoot on the smooth pink Canadian Shield is a sensory connection to the last ice age. It’s so hard to pick a favourite area, so I will choose a few. The white “mountains” of Killarney were life changing to this southern Ontario boy. The islands and shipwrecks around the Massassauga Provincial Park are amazing. And finally the interface between limestone bedrock and exposed Canadian Shield in the waters just off Victoria Harbour are visual reminders of our geological history. (Sorry, earth science nerd.) Thank you for the video.

Such an awesome channel! Great editing and pacing. So interesting and informative. I'm a couple of years from retirement and wanting to explore the Great Lakes and maybe the Great Loop at some point. The Ranger Tug has definitely gotten my attention as a possible platform. Cheers!

We have been very happy with our boat. And would highly recommend them.

Great video. You can get a “luxury edition “ Ranger Tugs with down rigger mounts, you just have to ask for the mounts when ordering the boat . We’ve owned R25 and R27 luxury editions outboard boats , both had factory installed down-rigger mounts and wiring.

So I come from the land of no tics. Do you ever wonder about those little buggers when you go off ship on your trail walks, that are spectacular by the way? Love the Drone shots too.

Fabulous video! ❤️ You are right. The scenery along your route was absolutely beautiful. The area around the sportsman lodge looked really cool with a beautiful marina. 😎😎 I spotted another Ranger Tug there with what appears to be a Washington registration number? Did you meet up with owners?

Yes we did. A very sweet couple that decided to spend the summer on Georgian Bay. I asked them if doing the loop and they said no.

Great video, I’ve never seen that part of the country. Do the shoals and reefs show up on the maps/nav?
@expeditionseanest3 ай бұрын
Jay, many of them do but they are not exactly located as shown on the charts. If you can stay in the main routes and not get distracted by the beautiful views , you should not have a problem. Unfortunately Michael can sometimes be like a dog chasing a squirrel , and he loves to explore places where other people do not go.

How deep is the channel?
@expeditionseanest3 ай бұрын
If you stay in the middle of the channel the depths are plenty good for any cruiser. But if you veer off too much grounding could happen. Some spots are narrow. You would love it there.

How deep? Not deep enough sometimes. Just 3 weeks ago in the middle of channel in Collins Inlet I bounced off a rock leaving a chunk of keel behind. 😢
