the scenery makes the layout in my opinion. and I always like to see the engines with the driver and fireman in it makes it more realistic.

I picked up a HO layout that had been put out on the nature strip for the hard rubbish collection in Croydon, Australia. It was in bad repair. I purchased replacement rails, scenery and buildings and some rolling stock from a nearby hobby shop. It was duly refurbished with the help of my 11 grandchildren. They played with it for about 10 years. It was then sold at a church car-boot sale and no doubt will be played with for another 10 years!
