Thanks for clarifying. I'd heard/read the 180 days but was confused as I could only see 90 days as the time permitted. So 90 days with 3 x 30 give the full 180. cheers!

How much does an extension cost vs. border run?
@ScottAlanMillerVlog7 ай бұрын
That depends on a lot of factors. Border runs have fees from the country you go TO in some cases (Costa Rica is $10/person) and entrance into Nicaragua fees (typically $14/person) plus any cost of getting to and from the border. Extensions are around $30 I think, but are generally local. But you do it three times instead of once for 90 days.

So, save the border run for last, and get the new 90 days…makes sense!

FOr most people and situations, yes.

Spirit is showing a MGA to FLL red eye for $99, and a return flight 16 hours later for $67. For those that don’t want to do the drive to CR: 5 hours of flight time, a few meals in the states, & a trip to the Duty-Free.

If you live in Managua, that can work out well.

@@ScottAlanMillerVlog , the idea international travel, for a day, with no luggage, is intriguing and boggling

Good experience to try. You can do the same things to Mexico and Panama, but rarely will you get flights as cheap.

Do you ever have issues continuously doing this?

2 week ago Costa Rica extended their visa from 90 days to 180 day. I wish Nicaragua would do the same. I don't know if there's any extinctions added with their new 180 days... One would hope. That would make border runs once a year and that would be fantastic.

Nicaragua can't extend to 180 since it's been 180 all along. Costa Rica had to catch up. The 180 that Costa Rica did was to catch up to the region as they were the only 90 day country in Central America. All the rest have been 180 (either instant or extended to) as long as I can remember. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6TWhId4e6ykqM0 kzbin.info/www/bejne/qX-ppWWkd8mqpac kzbin.info/www/bejne/jILbiIWMjciHibc

Do you have to go in person or can i go for my whole family to migracion to get extensions?
@ScottAlanMillerVlog7 ай бұрын
Adults have to go in person, you don't have to have your kids (at least after the first time.) Take them the first time and ask.

As a Texan I need to make a comparison regarding rules on tourist stays etc. I find it so strange that the United States allows over 10 million people into their borders over the last 4 yrs . Many of these have never gone through any border control safeguards or standards. There have been an estimated 2.5 million ( I believe many more) who have never been veted by the US or that the Govt even know who there are in the US. Contrast that with you just talked about. Nicaragua keeps a very tight lid on everyone who visits their country. They know who you are and where you are and only let you stay so long before checking back in with them. Many other hoops to jump through to stay.Much more to say buy I'll stop here.

nicaragua wants people to get in and not take away jobs. The US is focused on the opposite... they want loads of workers that they don't officially know about so that they can be pressured to work below minimum wage. If you look at the enormous economic windfall the US gets, and total dependency that it has on, low paid immigrant labor, everything the US does makes sense. Don't look at it as "not paying attention", look at it as the logical approach and consistent behavior across the board. It's VERY intentional and by design. They create problems abroad, advertise to those places to come to the US, pretend that they don't want them, then pay them almost nothing for doing jobs Americans don't want.
