The Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong, from “Journey to the West”

Sun Wukong, also known as the Monkey King, was born from a fairy stone in Huaguo Mountain. He became a disciple of Bodhi Patriarch and learned the seventy-two transformations and somersault cloud. Because of making trouble in the Heavenly Palace, he was pressed under the Five Elements Mountain by the Buddha. Five hundred years later, Tang Monk rescued him, accepted him as a disciple, and embarked on a journey to obtain scriptures. With courage and wisdom, he defeated the demons and finally obtained the true scriptures, creating a legend.
