Can you translate this one?
@ubiozmiec Жыл бұрын
@@sadyuli it's about a young girl, named Petrunka, she was going from village to village to search for a "horo" Bulgarian traditional dance. (Probably looking for someone to get married as well) Basically.. Then in her own village, she started a horo, In Bulgarian we say "you lead the horo". Then came a guy and he didn't enter the horo from the middle or the end, but went right next to Petrunka (getting married vibes). The last verse Petrunka was flaunting her hair, while the posy on her hair was crumbling (she finally got a guy) and with her legs she was muddying (from muddied) to get mud on her... shoes/slippers/flip-flops To translate it literally just can't really be done, so I'm interpreting what the song's about. I've heard that 80% + of Bulgarian folklore is about sex, it's just disguised with these weird words and traditions so young kids won't be able to realize the true meaning.

Can someone explain the history and meaning of the song? I read it's about a girl name Petrunko who's dancing wild and waiting for her lover to dance with her and the reason why they sing the part "ay" or "yup" and stop abruptly or quickly is because they didn't want to get caught by their capturers. Is this true?

ok i know nothin about all that but the original folk song is about the girl (Petrunko) and her friends who are looking for a dance. they find one, shes leading the dance, and a dude who is baddddd at dancing joins the line in the front instead of the middle (which is the customary thing to do) and he like knocks the flowers from her hair and gets mud on her shoes and so forth. We did a version of this song in a different language than bulgarian in my church performance group and thats how the story went when translated. This version is very choral, like theyre adding embellishments for the sake of making it an interesting piece, but there is always the little "yips" to some extent because that is a common "adlib" to many balkan folk songs. sorry i hope i didn't make ruin the fun but i still think its a pretty relatable story haha
