@Lord Admiral Spire well, Warriors of Ultramar showed the world through a perspective of a Lictor pretty nicely... so it is certainly possible with more complex organisms. It would be incredible to see how the Hive Tyrants and warriors view the world and perhaps shift perspective to a gaunt viewing the same thing. As an extreme example. Also... I ate your whole fleet at Cadia =P

A tau, imperial and genestealer three-way? Awesome!

The story is so well told that I was transfixed the whole time. Though it lacks context (I suspect deliberately). The Tau gunning down the Gue’vesa are from the Fourth Sphere expansion and were heavily sanctioned by Shadowsun and the Ehereals after committing this and other heinous acts against both prisoners and their Auxillaries (not just human, Kroot and Vespid also suffered from them). It remains a mystery what’s driven the Fourth Sphere survivors to a level of xenophobia only matched by the Imperium, though I suspect it’s because of their time in the warp and the subsequent witnessing of their Auxillaries as conduits for the denizens of the daemonic realm to enter and slaughter them. It was also likely the humans among them who created the first Tau warp god, the mysterious entity that saved them while simultaneously horrifying them. The humans vision of the Greater Good likely manifested. It will be interesting to where they go in 9th especially as they now have some mysterious warp entity that is on their side if not accepted by them.

@@sturm9087That being said, the 4th sphere survivours mind's were altered by contact with Chaos, and they were convinced that the alien races were making the Empire "impure". It's important to note that every Tau of the 5th sphere was horrified at their actions, and the 4th sphere commanders were ritually punished for their transgressions.

@@Pemmont107 that’s true although I think it had a lot to do with the auxiliaries becoming corrupted by chaos while the Tau really weren’t so they saw the auxiliaries as a danger to the empire. Plus the Greater Good chaos god they saw that the auxiliaries have created in the warp which the Tau see as a perversion of the greater good.

Baldermort, I would really love it if you could make a video about Commander Farsight. I recently translated his name in Gothic: Shas'O Vior'la Shovah Kais Mon'Tyr Fire Caste Commander of Vior'la (Septs name meaning hot blooded) Farsight skillful in the Mont'yr (simulator in which the code of fire is practiced, meaning he is a master tactician). I think he is worth a video, since the enclaves have no ethereals and his battle tactics include melee combat. For references I can absolutely recommend the three farsight books. A very good read!

@@Baldermort Yes, specifically because their expansion force got lost in the rift when it came into existence, after the storm had passed they must have had to cull their own gue'vesa once the daemons tried to possess them. the T'au are slowly realizing how insane everything else really is outside of their little bubble of blessed ignorance. to Shadowsun's shock they seem to not share what happened to them but go on killing their former comrades. I wonder if the T'au are going to exile the 4th sphere veterans, and if they do those may join up with Farsight probably. being the only other T'au to have gazed into the abyss and seen the lies of the ethereals.

@@zacharysain8516 the wikipedia of warhammer and lexicanum have videos on getting started with a broadscope view of the setting, also there are plenty videos here on youtube to get your friends started with the general summary of the 41st Millenium, which is pre-great rift but establishes the Imperium and what the setting is perfectly. from there just give them an 8th (or soon to be 9th) edition core book which draws closer to what is happening in the relative "now"

That last story. Ah, when it came out it really put me off the tau and into the Skitarii as my non ork army. I had souch grand plans for non tau convertions into auxiliaries. So many wierd aliens and hoomies. But the purge, it kind of made me feel like it became non viable. Witch after some time i find not to be true. Still havent bought the codex tau and stuff yet.

It should be noted that those Tau involved are a small sub-set of the overall Tau and they are shunned by their mainstream comrades as such. They are a sect dwarfed even by the outcast Farsight Enclaves. Such is there small influence on the Tau as a whole. These are a very very very small minority of Tau, I believe they are even Fourth Sphere Warriors, who are exceptionally xenophobic from their dealings of being stuck in the Warp with humans and aliens susceptible to demonic possessions and such. This purge definitely hurt to witness.
