Game on! I've got an accordion and a computer, just had a mic delivered and I'm off! Attempting to get myself recorded well enough, not done anything to do with recording etc since I finished secondary school in 2011! Great question! I suppose it doesn’t really matter if it’s the entire song. Obviously, the more the better but if you’re only comfortable with some of it, stick to just that and it’ll be good enough 😊

Does anyone have a browsable list of all songs that meet the criteria (a Spotify playlist or even a spreadsheet)? This is super exciting. Like others I don't actually know that many popular songs from the last 5 years

Happy to hear you’re excited Matt, that’s great! Unfortunately I haven’t been able to come across a browsable list myself. Maybe try searching out on KZbin, “best billboard top 100 songs of [year]” and see what that brings up? Wish I had something compiled but the list could very well go on and on with so many artists just making it in, in like the last 90-100 for only a week or two. There could probably be several hundred if not a thousand or more in a years time. But it would be great if someone stumbles upon the perfect resource for this. Right now, the wiki method seemed to make the most sense… looking forward to hearing what you come up with! Appreciate your involvement with this ❤

Would the song "The Wellerman" by Nathan Evans count? It's from 2021 and it's been on a ton of charts it seems, but I can't tell if it's been high enough on the specific Billboard Hot 100, there's a lot of confusing information on the wiki. Love what you're doing here!! I'm excited to enter!

Hey Andrew! I did some research on it just and i’m not seeing anything about this song making it on to the US billboard hot 100. It seems like this was a hit more overseas in Europe but not here in the states… so unfortunately this one won’t make the cut. You can search out “top songs of 2018” or the following years and see what comes up and use those as a way of narrowing it down. Also if there is a mainstream US artist you like, pick a top song from them and try searching out the wiki information on it. Hope you find something you enjoy. Can’t wait to see your submission!

glad I read the comments early, if it's gotta be a song from the top 100 in the last 5 years I'll pass :/ that seems pretty restrictive. I don't even play conventional accordion music, I just don't really like mainstream pop stuff. "Wait I saw a good accordion cover of Toxic a while back, maybe I could- oh no wait it's from the last 5 years." RIP my music tastes I guess :p My song backlog is long enough as it is, if I'm gonna learn something new I'd rather just put it towards something on there. Still, neat channel here. I'll check out the other videos, I've had to cobble together something like those accordion charts from scratch. It'd be nice to have a more complete version.

It’s also on the webpage of the event too, over 2400 songs organized by the artist’s name so it should be a lot easier to narrow in on one you like using that. Best of luck!! ♥️
