It sounds slightly different because when using the bass, the two lowest voices (octaves) of the 4 or 5 voices of the 'A' are also opened. Using only chords, only two or three of the voices are opened. Using this technique, the chord should sound slightly lower (or fuller)

I just had these installed in my 120LMMM accordion (by the local repair guy), but can get feedback especially from bass frequencies, I might have to go and add some of that mesh to the inside of the grill to help with that.

You saved my shoulder! Ive only been playing for 5 months and developed shoulder pain that I started seeing a PT for. Your strap mod moved the straps of of my left scapula and onto the bigger muscle groups (traps) so my left arm can move more naturally now. A lot of my pain disappeared in my first practice with this mod.

@@zacwoodward6054 YESSSS! 😆 I’m so so happy to hear this is helping you continue to play without pain Zac! Definitely stick to the PT too despite how annoying it can get sometimes, every little bit you can do to build it up again will help. You ever need anything, don’t hesitate to shoot me an email, happy to help!

@@clivejolley6881 I’m happy to hear it’s helpful Clive! Makes such a difference to have an alternative like that in the toolbox if the right progression calls for it. Any little bit to help save wasted movement adds up when standing but even when seated it’s a joy to use because it’s just easier. Hope you get a lot out of it my friend!! -Denny

I had come across this video while trying to find a beginner accordion. I have been trying to teach myself accordion with my grandfathers 80 year old accordion, but not all of the keys work, so its been tough. Also, hearing your story about having bipolar has inspored me to push through my own struggles with bipolar. Thank you so much for posting this video. I am now subscribed and I look forward to following your content, and continuing my accordion journy. I'll keep you in my prayers

This video may be helpful for beginners, but there really should be a moratorium on the word "hack" for things that are simply common techniques that have been used by accordionists forever. This is elementary stuff. Calling it a "secret" is nonsensical.

Hey question, if i hold down notes like that on my left hand, and i play a melody on my right hand but nothing sounds does that mean the accordion is bad? if i play like stacatto on the left hand it works. im new to accordion heh thanks =)
@SqueezeandThanks
@SqueezeandThanks 4 ай бұрын
@@MartinZazpe sometimes the pressure within the accordion bellows is allocated to the lower bass notes that causes them to sound and when that pressure is released, there isn’t a whole lot left for the higher notes and they can sound weak or sometimes not engage at all… is this what you’re referring to? Some cheaper accordions don’t have as much dynamic range capability in the reeds and they will not fire under lower pressure

In the Book Accordion in the Americas. ed Helena Simonet (2012), Richard March has a paper "Accordion Jokes, a Folklorist's View" which I usually refer people to when they tell this and other classics. And there it is on page one, along with "if you throw an accordion, a banjo, and a bagpipe off the Empire State building, which one it's the ground first? Who cares?"; "How many Accordions can fit in a phone booth? One hundred and one, if you chop them up, fine enough."; and "What is the difference between a concertina and an accordion? An Accordion takes longer to burn." It's nice to see the old jokes get some serious attention and have them collected in one place. March's five page paper is mostly an amusing catalog of jokes, comparing ones about banjos, bassoons and bagpipes, (leaving out violas). It ends with a comment on how accordions were singled out from their higher-class harmonium pump-organ counterparts for classist reasons. And the association with immigrant communities probably led to some of the distain for the instrument, much like the cultural "low-class" reputation of the banjo. I'm sure March would have welcomed this video for inclusion in his research.
