HegdeOnstage now that I think of it, even though the heart shape necklace that Tasha wears throughout the entire special. I believe that in a way that necklace also represents friendship, because I'm kind of thinking that when it was Tasha's idea to use the necklace to repair the professor's balloon maker. I believe when Tasha made that right decision, she probably thought to herself that her necklace also represents friendship, even sharing and caring at the same time. So I really do believe Tasha's necklace represents sharing, caring and friendship

"Barney's Imagination Island" is without a doubt one of my favorite Barney specials. Even though I still wish that "The Barney Theme Song" and "I Love You" were featured in this special, it's still a fantastic entry within the franchise.

HegdeOnstage bedtime with Barney imagination Island was one of my favorite Barney TV specials, that I saw when I was little. I especially love the character of professor tinkerputt, at the same time I never knew that he would be played by a well-known Broadway and movie star from Hollywood. Because the actor they hired to play that character, I should say really did a good job. And at the same time I think he's a really good comedian as well

I remember that when I first watched the "Live in New York City" video the ending with "Everyone is Special" blew my 2-3 year old mind. It's one of those memories that I never forgot. I probably would not have been as impacted if it was the usual ending with "I Love You." I have a big soft spot for both that video and "Imagination Island."

This costume, in my opinion, looks like a IRL version of the cartoon renderings of Barney seen for Barney merchandise from 1992-1993. Does anyone ever wonder why the cartoon Barney in the early B& F years didn't really resemble the costumes from those years?

As an animator myself, I will say the translation of a costumed mascot character to a cartoon variant is not as simple as one would imagine. This is why it’s usually best to stray from that design and push more towards a cartoonier look, even if it comes off more exaggerated. If drawing based off of a costume solely, you are limited by the costume’s flexibility, as opposed to if the character was a real being without a foam body and a mouth that can’t form syllables. Creating a cartoon-y variant of Barney also makes the character easier for kids to draw if they choose

This part at 7:33, when I was little I've always thought as if Barney farted.😆🤣 But it was only a seashell that Tasha blew on like a horn, sometimes you can find seashells like that and actually blow on them like horns. But like I said before, when I was little I always thought as if Barney had farted at that part. I was just a toddler at the time, I didn't know what I was thinking. But it was funny of the way I thought of it

I came up with a flawless theory as to how Professor Erasmus Q. Tinkerputt ended up on Imagination Island: He was once an esteemed professor of mechanical engineering at Penn State University, who took up toy making as a hobby. Until one year, he made the mistake of showcasing his creations to fellow colleagues who, unbeknownst to him, wanted to sell them for personal financial gain. He showed up to his classroom one morning, only to discover all of his latest inventions had been auctioned off by his colleagues without his consent. When he tried reporting this wrongdoing to the police, they refused to help him. Enraged by this, he resigned from his position as an educator and cut himself off from civilization. He later settled onto an uncharted island in the Caribbean, where he could continue his life's work without having to worry about people stealing from him.

HegdeOnstage just like what you started to explain at 13:21, yeah I believe you. And I thought it was like the most wonderful happy ending scene I ever saw since I was little. But now that I think of it, I'm also thinking that the producers might have been inspired by the happy ending scene and sort of parody from the end of Peter Pan. Because if you can remember the Disney animated classic itself, at the end of the movie Peter Pan takes over Captain hook's pirate ship. And Peter asks Tinkerbell to spread her pixie dust all over the ship, and the ship flies off into the night. So that wasn't like the first that we've seen a flying sailing ship, we first encountered one from the classic fairytale and part of Disney animation history of Peter Pan. So I believe the producers were inspired by that memorable sequence from Peter Pan, to be part of this classic Barney full length special. But instead of pixie dust, it's giant balloons that help make the ship fly out into the night

HegdeOnstage I saw it this Barney TV special aired on PBS. Because the TV show as you know had a good long run on pbs, and was a PBS original. So I thought PBS would also include to have full length Barney TV specials to be involved as well, I didn't know this TV special came out on NBC. I've always thought that PBS aired this TV special. I think it's kind of weird and odd that this TV special came out on NBC, I wish this TV special could have came out on PBS. Because it could have been way better if it did. Because the truth is years later from Thomas and Friends, the Thomas movie specials did air on PBS. Such as calling all engines, the Great Discovery, hero of the rails, Misty Island rescue, Day of the diesels, Blue mountain in mystery etc. Those full length Thomas animated movie specials aired on pbs, I actually remembered watching some of their reruns back in the late 2000s and the early 2010s and mid 2010s on PBS

HegdeOnstage I kind of wish after the success of bedtime with Barney imagination Island. I wish there could have been like follow up sequels, well follow up TV sequels to bedtime with Barney since the success of imagination Island. I wish there could have been like a sequel where it could have been entitled bedtime with Barney fun in the Sun at the beach, which could have been a better reboot of Barney in the backyard gang a day at the beach. But instead of beginning with the kids going into the backyard and playing in the swimming pool for what could have been a possible bedtime with Barney TV special, I wish it could have started with Tasha, Min and Kathy having a sleepover with not just two but three girls at Tasha's house. And of course Barney would be there too, and the kids would probably talk about a trip that they had at the beach or that they came from swimming lessons or had fun in a swimming pool from Tasha's backyard. That the kids would first talk about it in the bedroom, and that they would say they are a little tired but not that sleepy yet. And one of the girls would choose a storybook to read before bedtime, and the storybook would be about some children and their parents taking them to the beach. And as they would read the storybook, they would hear like the sounds of the ocean and seagulls coming from their window. And from there it would make Barney come to life, and the kids would realize it's Barney making up that magical sound. And the kids would think about that they would like to go to the beach and so forth, hopefully the next day if Tasha's parents would take them. And of course as you know, because he is Barney the dinosaur. Barney would first encourage the kids to use their imaginations, and that they would have fun at the beach. And it would first start by going through Tasha's closet of course. When a magic Sparkle comes out of the story book, and strikes Tasha's closet, then the closet doors would open to leave them into the beach. And of course the whole entire if it could have been a possible bedtime with Barney sequel, almost everything would be similar from the original Barney and the backyard gang a day at the beach. But way different away from it, and to hopefully make it better. So I wish an idea like this could have been done to be entitled bedtime with Barney fun in the Sun at the beach, and I wish there could have been a third one that would take place in the snow. Hopefully the snowy mountains if it could have been done, I wish there could have been another one that would take place in the woods where they would have a campfire. I also wish there could have been another one, where it would take place at a train station and we're Barney and the kids would have an amazing train ride at the same time. To who knows how many other train stations along the way. So in a way, I wish there could have been who knows how many bedtime with Barney full length TV special sequels after the success of imagination Island. Because the idea of follow-up sequels afterwards could have been fun to watch on TV, and to even pick up on video cassette. And it would be known as that time with Barney series at the same time

So maybe that's why she didn't come on the full length special. But nonetheless, they should have been bedtime with Barney full length special sequels after the success of imagination Island. I wish the second sequel could have been where they would go hang out at the beach, and it would be similar but way better than Barney and the backyard gang a day at the beach. And I wish you could have been other sequels to follow

Dammit! Dammit! I promised myself I wouldn't catch a case of the nostalgia feels during these vids! Seriously tho, I LOVED this special. We had a ton of Barney tapes, but this was the one that I specifically would watch over and over. I wished so bad for that balloon machine to be real, like it was so cool and colorful, and that Imagination song is so good (it actually gave me chills hearing it again after all these years). Pretty good explained! At first I was a little bit scared of the storm scene when I was young but as I got older and rewatched it I guess it was okay, pretty much outdated look but still well designed. And Barry Pearl did a good job on Tinkerpuff as much as he did as Doodie in 1978 Grease film! By the way that ship heading to the moon at the end, does it remind you of Hook's ship and clouds moving behind the moon from Disney's Peter Pan?

Barney's Imagination Island is one of my favorite Barney Specials , sure I do have some nitpicks like BJ's costume is soo stupid looking and could be the worst BJ costumes and the island setting is a bit generic but still beautiful to look at and I really wish the I Love U song is still there but I get why they didn't use it for this special because of the 1994 lawsuit and that's also the reason why Barney Live in New York City didn't have that either but this and the mention Barnet Live 1994 have it's own identify and it's sooo fantastic and fun , the music is always so wonderful and perfect to listen to Bob West did his best as Barney and my opinion Bob Singleton's score of the music is the best in the Barney franchise and Bob West will always be my Barney overall this captures the spirt of Barney and shows how the Lyons Group era is a charming and wonderful era of the Barney franchise

there’s no real reason for why Rock with Barney omitted the I Love You song, its possible it could’ve just not been put into the script for whatever reason. Rock with Barney released directly before Season 1 of Barney and Friends where I Love You is sung in every episode The lawsuit itself came about around the end of Season 2
