Apollo we planned to attack with lusitani and after you took it we had to make a choice either we take ODK or Pergamon/Seleucid so that's why. My Teammate Epirus his task was to consume pila and arrows and I would hit hard with initially Lusitani

What an epic struggle. Fantastic. It really shows that a few micro errors really do make a world of difference in the outcome. Especially when it is this close. Losing all those Swords to spear volleys while you were mirco the cav is what doomed you. But amazing fight either way.

Awesome battle Apollo, really epic! Sad to see you lost... I think the biggest mistake you made was at the end, trying to kill the Pergamon spears while they were cornered, this olayed into their strengt. Since you were defending, best play was to retreat to the victory point and fighting them in the open.. But good game nontheless and keep up the good work!

i feel like the gorilla bois do this thing a lot where they charge in a infantry unti in more of a column formation which leaves the other side of the unit open to projectiles. Whereas if you charge the rectangle formation with your own rectangle you dont have that opening

At the end when you eliminated their skirmishers and pursued the enemy on both sides there was only three units left for them! Should’ve pulled back and played time game with the amount of units you guys had but indeed a valiantly fought battle down to the wire

@ 17:20 i think this is where light infantry can get a lot done. Theyre mixed in 2v1 with a solid infantry (thorax swords). Another greatcoption is if you have a deplete unit that isnt strong enough to fight a full line against an enemy, you can throw ij something light hillman tocpad out that line .

It was a really good battle, but to be honest the end just reminded me of your practise battle, where you fought the Spartans and you kinda made the same mistake here again. You played really into the attackers hands by attacking them at that narrow street there. At like 47:00 I would have just retreated everything to the towncenter, where is a large open area. This had been soo much better, because you had still alot soldiers (even if its skirmishers in melee) and especially for cav and slingers with ammo this option had made you win this battle, I am pretty sure. I know this is now backseat gaming and in a battle, especially if its so intense, it can happen to make not the best decisions. But now that you made the mistake twice and both times it costed you the victory, I guess the chance is not small it could happen again, so maybe you can keep that in mind for you next battles. This is not criticism, just an advise, cause I wanna see you and Ruvaak get some good places in this tournament :)

The late game is just a bunch of missed opportunities. You had the chance of getting your slingers on the walls. You could easily pull your cav out of the city to get behind enemy lines ... nerve wracking!

At 32 minute mark, that was no gap. They seemed to pushed that unit through your infantry. Which I thought was illegal for this tournament. Looks really fishy to me.

I am the epirus guy, we got minus 1 but not here. There was a huge gap and most of my unit went throught the gap, its not always possible to move every single soldier in the unit the right way. In this case this unit went undisturbed, so there is nothing wrong.

From the start of the tournament , EVERY time you where on defence you had to choose better defence factions ! always better to gain only 3 points then 0 . Youre where calculating to much I think ?? if you win all youre defence games youre practical going to the next round. Dont save the good factions for the next round !!! In fact you did MUCH better this game... but you lost this game by choosing the wrong factions . Annyway you did both a good job Apollo, youre defence is much better then youre attacking .

Disgree. If WW didn't care so much about 2nd place and just taking out CC from the tournament, they would have just brought Rome and Pergamon to seal CC's fate. I see it more as a calculated mix of increasing the probability of a win, just with fewer points.

@@PixelatedApollo1 Don't worry about people like that. Your strategy was great and it (almost) worked out. Watching a battle or actually playing in it are 2 completely different things and nobody plays a match 100% perfect. But there was 1 mistake you made in this battle, that you already made before in your practise rounds. Basically the attackers had just 2 units left, while your team had way more units. One thing you could avoid next time is choosing a chokepoint fight there. If you had retreated all units you had left at around 47:00 to the towncenter, Iam very sure you could have won this. Cause there you could have attacked the units from multiple flanks, even if its just skirmishers in combat, but attacking them from all flanks is perfect to break their morale. Additionally your cav and slingers could have been used way better there than in the street. Basically you had the right ideas, also at the end with the skirmishers and cav. But before there died many units, getting not many kills in that streetfight, but at the end they could have had pinned enemies units and had made a worthy sacrifice to give the cav and slingers the freedom to make good actions and get the kills. Maybe you can keep this in mind, in case such a situation happens another time in the tournament. But again, I didnt saw horrible decisions here. Mistakes happen in every battle and I have thrown away more decisive battles than this one already ^^
