Ever thought about making a deck like this that also used Root Snare so you can 100% last against aggro decks? Each Root Snare is a free turn of living usually, and if you use Tamiyo or whatev to get them back its just a lot of time for you to set up with a golos and lantern or whatev and pop off.

i would opt for dovin, hand of control, it's a distracting target and can "root snare" any permanent for several rounds...

@@zaubermaus8190 Except that Dovin, Hand of Control can only do one permanent. Root Snare does every permanent on the entire board, at instant speed, and one less mana. Root Snare is strictly the better card because of that. Dovin, Hand of Control. 3 Mana, Sorcery Speed, and can only get one permanent. Root Snare. 2 Mana, Instant Speed, gets every permanent on the board. ( Yours and Their's. ) Yes, Dovin's lasts for at most 5 turns potentially because of loyalty and all, but really if lets say the enemy has. . Idk. Five pridemates, all at 7/7 or something, and you play a dovin. You can only get one of those, where as with a root snare you can effectively stop all of them for cheap and at instant speed.

​@@aerograd which one is better is highly situational of course, i mentioned dovin with the thought of playing him on curve or at least preventing high damage early in the match until you are set-up. he also has a passive ability that makes instants and sorceries more expensive for your opponent, which most likely messes up their mana curve. not to mention that some (or quite a few) people just don't know how dovin works and try to attack. also, if your enemy has four 7/7 furries and you have to resort to sth like root snare (OR dovin), you better pray you top deck a sweeper next turn anyway ;)

@@zaubermaus8190 Or pray you top deck another root snare, so you can avoid the other 21 damage that Dovin can't block and try and ramp into an ugin or something to exile all. Not saying Dovin is bad, and we both can have our own opinion on stuff for sure, I am just saying that in statistics, Root Snare is easier to cast and does more in one moment. Dovin is slower and targets specifically single targets while giving a god-pharaoh effect. Both are unique and good in certain situations. I just usually find, it's better to run 2-4 copies of root snare in the 2 mana slot in any control deck or combo deck using green, than run dovin into a control or combo deck. Though, you could run both I suppose and just make an ultra fog deck which would be annoying unless the enemy had no creatures. Against Aggro, Root Snare is probably better as it effectively stops more than one target instantly for cheap. Against other decks that lets say try and ramp out into one huge creature, or decks that generally only run few creatures, Dovin would be better. So yeah, it's situational, I just meant I found Root Snare to be cheaper and easier to play at whatever given time.

@@aerograd yeah, i didn't mean to suggest dovin would be better than snare either... i have used both in very different decks, but what i like about dovin is, you put him down and get value for several turns (even if there is more than one damage source, planeswalkers tend to get targeted more than face, so he's a distraction), while, even if you top deck several snares, basically you end up where you started and your opponent will most likely be stronger than before. but yeah, both cards have their purpose.

I play a deck like this in historic, but with much less ramps, more enchants and planeswalkers. One of the plays I like the most is using Genesis Ultimatum with T3feri and Wilderness Reclamation with 5 lands or Playing Genesis Ultimatum with Double Vision on the board. This one is actually giving me some ideas.

If this were me I would take out 2 ugins as well as any legendaries of which there are 3 or more copies, and a shatter or two... The deck has plenty of draw, and getting a second copy when one is already in play is a bit redundant... So minimize that by keeping only 2 unless the deck needs it to function... 2 because 1 can be removed. What to replace with? Other high power cards, like Liliana Dreadhorde General or Drakuseth, or a Loaming boi... Other things
