能島（のしま）と鯛崎島（たいざきじま）は、瀬戸内海のほぼ中央にある愛媛県の無人島です。 GoogleMap → maps.app.goo.gl/4h4UtDPsHM1VgvaH9 🟦SDGs14 海の豊かさを守ろう🐟 しまなみ海道でつながる伯方島（はかたじま）と大島（おおしま）の間の狭い海峡、宮窪瀬戸（みやくぼせと）にある島々です。 16世紀、能島には海賊の城、能島城がありました。そして鯛崎島には最前線を守る出丸という防御施設があったそうです。 宮窪瀬戸は干満時には激しい潮流と渦巻く急流で天然の要塞（お堀）として機能していました。　当時は帆船の時代で、宮窪瀬戸は航海の難所でした。 能島城を拠点とした能島水軍は、航行船の破壊・略奪や、それらを行わず安全を保障する代わりに、通航料の徴収をしていたそうです。 日本の戦国時代を研究した宣教師ルイスフロイスは能島水軍を「日本最大の海賊」と著書に記しています。 1588年、豊臣秀吉の海賊停止令によって水軍の歴史は終わりを告げました。そして能島城は廃城となり、無人島となりました。1953年、能島城跡の名称で国の史跡となりました。
