I'm glad I did and I suggest you do the same, if you still think England was "robbed". I don't know where the ref was from, but NZ was penalized numerous times when they shouldn't. Shocking. I don't watch much serious rugby because of the blatant cheating that goes on. It totally ruins the game. In fact I'll make a prediction that if New Zealand plays France in the final, then we will lose, and it won't be from playing badly. It will look as if they are play poorly but that will be because the referees. The only way they will be able to win is by absolutely thrashing them. Not easy to accomplish

*The coolest head and great strategist in the midfield was Theresa Fitzpatrick whilst Charmaine MCMenanin is the most no-nonsense busy hardworker in the forwards. The most impactful and devastating runners were Renee Holmes, Stacey Flueler and Ayesha Leti I'iga in the outside backs whilst the leaders in Kendra Cocksedge, Rua Dumant and Ruby Tui kept the team pumping for 80 mins. All the Black Ferns team were doing their jobs superbly, but there is still perfection needed to be polished with their high risk but exciting brand of rugby!!! The USA needs to incorporate the sevens girls into their 15's side. They would be a real threat then. Cheta Emba Kristi Kirshe Alev Kelter Ilona Maher (total weapon) Sammy Sullivan Naya Tapper Kristen Thomas Put these players in the team, and they will be guaranteed a semi final at a World Cup. England's game over the last few years has been based around their forwards and the driving maul ( a part of the game I really dislike ) In this final they over powered NZ several times and scored with their driving maul tries. What I did notice watching the game live at Eden Park with my wife is that England's forward pack although very strong around their driving maul, their BIG Achilles Heel was their forwards slowness around the field. When the Black Ferns spun the ball wide England's weakness was clearly there for everyone to see. A great final and I am glad that the winner was a team that decided to show what running rugby is all about. I hope that the driving maul gets outlawed in the men and women's game, it is a blight on the game. Fans want to see running rugby .. not a bore-fest with scrum after scrum.

Well I guarantee if the All Blacks scored 5 tries *all through the rolling maul* I'd imagine not only the World fans would boo but thier very own *NZL fans would boo.* However not ban it but along with the drop goal just *minimize it* to 1 each per half, 1 try off the maul and 1 drop goal per half.

I'm a proud kiwi and Black Ferns fan and this comment comes from a place of ignorance. Whilst it's true that englands bread and butter is the maul they are far from a one dimensional team. This is a fallacy perpetuated by having a winger sent off, meaning they were one man down in a back line that was up against the most lethal backline in the world. Of course they're gonna revert back to the tried and true. The first try in the final was from the backs. The series before the World Cup they carved us up in the forwards and backs. Same for this years six nations. They probably scored more tries in the backs than the forwards.

I loved watching on KZbin, that legendary game when the mighty All Blacks played that majestic Barbarians team in the 70s Inspiring running rugby with beautiful trys. Wow 2 yrs on and watched the whole game again and still feel the highs & lows of this great game. Still feel England should had gone for goal and send the game into extra time but backed themselves and their forward pack to get the job done. But some may say the hand of a Black Fern intervened in the final lineout of the final minute to snuff out any chance they had, what a game. Truly both teams gave it their all, and at the time relieved the Black Ferns came out winners......just.

The 2nd greatest winger of all time takes out the greatest winger of all time via illegal blow. Both leave the field..... Throw in the kiwi girl taking out Abby Dow, the 3rd greatest winger of all time. Will she get red for a very similar tackle to the first incident ? Is Abby Dow able to continue ? Will England, with a 30 game winstreak, time up on the clock, 5 metres out, with an 85% lineout success rate, and the rolling maul being their bread and butter, finally be able to beat New Zealand in a World Cup final ? No matter the result here, rolling mauls are horrible, basically illegal where the opposing team cannot compete for the ball as it’s guarded by people in front of carrier. Any other part of the game this is illegal. Let’s just get rid of it and see more expansive play from all teams. Running rugby is what most really want to see. There is still ample opportunity for scrum work.

Why must the designated captain always start? If injured , unavailable or dropped the VC steps up. This just restricts selection. Have a team captain and a match day captain who may or may not be the same player depending upon form or injury.

player safety is paramount and if a player tackles dangerously they get carded - its nothing new it happens across the board - teams at this level should know better and know they will get carded if they demonstrate dangerous tackling
