According to the Ymfah "Top Gear" youtube video, you only need 1000 health to survive that forest of fallen giants jump. You don't even need the cat ring.

2:28 you can actually survive it pretty easily with cat ring if you jump 1 level lower from the spot you are on if i recall, you even could survive it without the ring if you have around 13-15 vig with health ring and blue seal (and being butt naked of cource)

If I remember correctly, if you're wearing no armor and have at least 10 VGR then you can just BARELY survive that jump without the cat ring for that early fragrant branch (After testing I was only half right, 10 VGR works only with both Blue Seal and Life Ring equipped. 12 VGR works with just Blue Seal, and 13 VGR works with nothing.) Hope the info helps out in a future build, much love!

Cat Ring, Life Ring and Blue Seal will help survive the fall for the fragrant branch of yore. Life Ring should be in a chest behind a door in the same room as the Pharros contraption underneath the ballista gank. To Open the door, just hit it a few times and an enemy should open it I do this every run

8:15 Actually, Dark Weapon does slightly more damage than GMW (against Rotten). I did some testing and on a normal Greatsword, with the rolling R1 attack and RTSR, GMW did 1402, whereas Dark Weapon did 1410. This is because GMW is much weaker than DW/RW/SB/CMW and is actually weaker than an Aromatic Ooze (which did 1405 against Rotten if you're wondering).

my favorite would either be the Bone fists, Hexes, and the Sir Alonne Katana! most powerful would either be Hexes with Climax or Powerstance Sacred Chime Hammer 1 shot potential is once again either Hexes or Sacred Chime hammer, as well as the Power stance Smelter Swords!
