Istabraq raced donkeys, and never raced an horse rated above 65, But he did manage to become joint 2nd highest rated Hurdler, level with Monksfield. Night Nurse rated No1. Night Nurse and Monksfield were in the golden Era of Hurdling. Names like Sea Pigeon, Birds Nest, Lanzarote, Comedy of Errors, Dramatist.

@@biblybims9868 Go on then, name one of those good horses that Istabraq beat in any of his Cheltenham Festival wins. I'll wait, as seems to be the thing to say online in circumstances like this. Tell the truth, you just responded like that for the sake of it to defend Istabraq, without having a clue what he beat, didn't you? For two of the three wins, the stable second string was second at 20/1 and 16/1, just to give 'the lads' a chance to get an ew bet on at a working man's price. And that second string that was second twice to Istabraq was also second in Make A Stand's Champion Hurdle too, yet nobody considers that one an all-time great, do they? And never mind poor opposition, there have been poor winners of the Champion Hurdle in the past too. Collier Bay, Flakey Dove, Katchit, Punjabi, Rock On Ruby and Sublimity being prime examples. where the took turns to beat each other in the race over several years and a good few of them never won another race after the Champion Hurdle. I have to er lol at your lol though.
