I live in Lebanon, in a town on a mountain overlooking the "Dog river". Midway the mountain, there is a rock where Nebuchadnezzar II engraved his name when he conquered that place. I feel so privileged. Before modernisation and road building and tunnels, that corner was very difficult for an army to pass. I can only imagine the battle. thanks for the memory.

@@allfredo7753 Honesty, I hav been away for 40 years, but going back soon and I might be able to visit Baalbek again if it is safe. Not much to say other than what is Witten in many journals and books and many KZbin videos, theories, speculation, aliens, the usual. What I know, you have to say it. You will be overwhelmed by the sheer size of the stones (not the roman ones which are impressive still). The foundation is not Roman. The size of the blocks are massive. There is a block (the pregnant woman stone which I stood on top for a photo as a young boy. 🙂) as it partially protruding from the ground weighing 1,240 tons. You will ask yourself "How on earth did they move it many 1000s of years ago? In 2014 they found an even heavier one, measuring 64 feet by 19.6 feet by 18 feet and weighs 1650 tons (This Is the Largest Stone Block Ever Carved By Human Hands, scientists estimates) still on the ground. If you look at the foundation of the temple, you will see similar stones (estimate 3000 tons). Massive. Perfect right angles and straight lines. The pregnant woman shows signs of perfect cuts and very smooth. How? You have t see it to believe it. The mystery is, what was there before the Roman temple? Why would someone cut and move these enormous stones to build a platform for what?

Nebuchadnezzar's name on the Hebrew bible is written as 𐤍𐤁𐤊𐤃𐤍𐤀𐤑𐤓/Nebekedeneasere" and gives multiple literal meanings of "come by betrayed come imprisoned, come by from Dan imprisoned or bee covered tied up." Could it be because Nebuchadnezzar was from "Akkadian" which literally means "scratch Dan", is he a Jew from Dan tribe or the people imprisoned was from the Dan tribe?!

Nebuchadnezzar reigned from 605-562 BC, which places him well after the split of Israel and Judah. There were at least 1000 years of distinct, Hebrew monotheism prior Nebuchadnezzar’s reign. They were intermingled with periods of polytheism, as i said, due to the influence of surrounding cultures. I’m also not sure why Islam is even relevant here, since it didn’t originate until 610 AD- over 1200 years later.

A majority of them agree that it has contradictions and fallacies. Infact we don't even have the Gospel given to Jesus. No one knows who the anonymous writers of the Bible like Like, Mark, Matthew and John really were. Most of today's Christian rituals are based on what Paul said and integrated a lot of pagan stuff by Constantine during the third century. Even Christmas is way off and is celebrated on different dates across the non western world. The less said about the Christmas tree and Santa the better.

Interesting, this narrative thinks the Yahwist religion (8:00) as "polytheistic". It is more likely that the Canaanite descendant religion of the Yahwist's era, known by some as Eloistic, was the polytheistic influence on the ancient (pre-Judah) Hebrews. Some argue that the Eloists interposed Asherah and the other Canaanite gods into the Yahwist pattern. The fascinating part is that this narrative doesn't seem to know about the Eloists and simply assumes Yahwistic polytheism.

So the info in the video is actually correct, it was the Iron Age that was nearing its end in 609 BC. You're likely thinking of the Bronze Age in Europe that ended 600 BC.

The passages from the Bible were taken way out of context. What Daniel wrote was only a 7 year period but I think the Bible actually paints NZ in a good light considering he wasn’t chosen.

There's something important to note about the description of Nebuchadnezzar used for that painting. That comes from Daniel 4:33, and the verses before and after that verse make it clear that that was a *temporary* condition. The passage claims that after many years of rule and success, Nebuchadnezzar praised himself for his wonderfulness, and God struck him down with some kind of madness (as described in the verse). But the passage goes on to say that after some period of time (it is not clear how long), Nebuchadnezzar's sanity was restored, as was his ability to function as well as he had before the incident. The description as given in the verse (and used for that painting) is meant only for that short interlude of his total reign.

Remember latter in Ezekiel we learn the Phoenicians couldn't defeat them but instead tried to snuff them out by implementing their culture into Zion. Hence why we will find ancient Canaanite gods in Hebrew Temples some times. But when we look back in earlier days of the Hebrew tribes we barely see Canaanite scripture or customs in their Books. Excellent documentary. One comment on the book of Daniel though, that referenced Nebuchadnezzar by name but it wasn't about him, that was a metaphor for Greek leadership at the time, addressing a current situation using his image. Like how Babylon was a metaphor for Rome later in the NT.

I miss his conversion living as a donkey and realization of the almighty supremacy and more from the scripture. I visited the Pergamon museum 2020 to see Ishtar gate, but that part was closed! I've to try again. That gate was most most likely seen by Daniel and his friends, amazing.

Just the fact that Daniel lived and prospered in that environment is a matter of great interest to me. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that many of the elites in Babylon feared Daniel. They knew his 'GOD'' was real and with him. Maybe it had less to do with Daniel playing the right politics (which Im sure he did at times) and more to do with the fact that the people just simply feared him. It was a different time. People believed in many different gods, demons, & omens. Daniel would have scared the crap out of those people.
