As someone who went on to love film, and genre I always came back to this film and was saddened that so few people saw it's brilliance and shared the love I felt for it. Just watching this video you've made has brought me so much joy. Knowing that someone else was able to see the the brilliance in the minutia and appreciate the aesthetics and legacy of this film. There is not a lot that I'm aware of. Bound is by far the most popular and significant lesbian gangster heist film. One could say there should be more. This is such a perfect movie. There is NO weak link in this film. From the 2 main female leads to Joe P to Chris Merloni. One of my favorite characters was Mickey, I've never never heard of him..I never saw him in anything but that character was so captivating, he didn't fu*k around. The last 40 minutes has to be one of the best suspense filled moments in film history. I've introduced this film to people under protest and every single one of them thanked me for being so persistent. Again, the film is PERFECT. When The Matrix came out in 1998 I didn't see it based on the reviews, I saw it because the Warchaskis directed it. I didn't pay for a ticket to see the Matrix, I paid for a ticket to see the movie created by the4 directors of this amazing film. This is in my top 10 of all time. I think I'll put it on now! :)

I'm going to optimistically assume that the two replies are from intelligent adults and explain that it is important and educational to compare what some may consider to be a director's magnum opus or best work to their previous works, especially if that previous work was the reason those directors were trusted with a larger budget. Both Bound and The Matrix explore themes of feeling trapped in one's own life and the video itself shows how Bound has a precursor to bullet time which is one of the Matrix's defining special effects.

I can understand how you would feel that way, because it can be annoying having LGBT characters portrayed as antagonists in popular films or TV shows, but we also have to know that there are also LGBT protagonists and heroes in movies and TV shows too. Ultimately, it does not matter whether they are the bad guys or not. What matters is why they are the bad or good guys and how they came to be this way, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. A fleshed-out character, good or evil, is infinitely more beneficial to LGBT representation than simply assigning LGBT characters hero roles, because if the only reason that an LGBT character is meant to be a good person is because of their LGBT identity, it unnecessarily paints a picture of all LGBT people being reduced to a trope of being someone who can only be used for good or bad purposes, when there are moral ambiguities exist in not just LGBT people, but all peoples in general.
