No, he's still consistently from the future - and apparently, Blaze is, too; Shiro Maekawa, a former main writer, has said that she came from the future first before coming to the Sol dimension, meaning that her sacrifice at the end is what brought her there (since she doesn't come back at the end).... which also means that this game is still canon (backed up by all the references later on).

26:32 About their plan, it's supposed to tie into the central message of Silver's Story: "You can't go back in time to fix the mistakes of yesterday; all you can do is learn from them, and move forward so you can fix them in the now." At the start of the game, Silver has been pining for years to find a way to stop Iblis for good, so when Mephiles (whose name comes from 'Mephistopheles', which literally means 'the Devil') tempts him with an offer to go back in time and stop it from ever happening, he jumps on it immediately. But as the game goes on, he ponders if it's right to kill Sonic in order to (supposedly) save the world. Then Shadow takes Silver back to the incident that split Solaris into Mephiles and Iblis, and learns that Mephiles has been using him, and that he can't fix anything by going back. But while he's there, he sees the Duke seal Iblis away into Elise, which gives him the idea to do that back in his time. Since he's not royalty, though, he can't do it, so Blaze (who is both a Princess and a fire-magic user) takes the burden and tells Silver to trap her in another dimension to get Iblis out of this world for good. But Silver, after going through the whole dilemma around killing Sonic, can't bring himself to sacrifice his best (and really *only*) friend for the sake of the world, so she... Well, she either does it herself, or she dies trying to hold it in (that part's not very clear). But it saves the world, at the cost of Silver now being alone. Sure, the message gets rather muddied when Sonic and Elise blow out the Flames of Disaster before they can do any harm, thus causing the events of the game to never happen; and sure, it's not presented in the best way because this game is a hot dumpster fire that's been left stewing in the sun for 18 years; but it's still perfectly serviceable as presented within Silver's Story.

Theres also the critical flaw that silver didnt even need to return to his time to stop iblis He couldve just contained or dealt with iblis when he was first released, they have time travel And time is not immovable, when solaris reforms that essentially deletes silvers timeline because iblis becomes a conjoined entity instead of a seperate entity Theme is great, story not so much

@@adamtheriault6743Technically it wouldn't delete Silver's timeline, but rather make a new branch, leaving behind two; one where Solaris reforms (we'll call Timeline B) and one where Solaris doesn't (Timeline A). Timeline B continues forward while the Timeline A becomes - essentially - a time loop, infinitely copying Timeline B over and over or at the very least, making variations of Timeline B, such as if Silver never went back in time, if Silver did and succeeded, or Silver did and failed, if Blaze never became the vessel - so on and so forth. It's a whole thing and it's hard to describe without a diagram

So the reason in the real game that they seal iblis away in the future is because silver learns sonic isnt actually the iblis trigger which is the reason he went back in time to begin with to kill sonic and keep iblis from being released so he has no reason to medling with the past since he has no idea what causes iblis to released anymore. So he goes back to his time and decides with the new knowlege he learned on how to seal iblis away he can now seal iblis away who has been consistently ravenging the future. I may or may not have played sonic '06 a lot and payed close attention to the story multiple times

Tbh despite how weird and messy the story is and how buggy, glitchy the gameplay is I can say the story is interesting and it has some cool moments and ideas. Game looks fine for the time it was out and the soundtrack is fantastic.
