The guy Derek was actually in a wedding, it was his own wedding and Jennifer wasn’t invited to it. That was the problem, that’s why the guy she was talking to on the phone was not telling her whose wedding it was. She probably would’ e lost her sh*t. It’s no coincidence that Ben bailed just as he knew this shit show was about to go down. This guy spent two years in a marriage that was eclipsed by a vanity project spearheaded by his egomaniacal wife. Imagine how many times this guy warned her but she wouldn’t listen and now he was about to watch this thing premiere knowing what was going to happen and he wasn’t about to stick around long enough to witness or be on the receiving end of her rage and humiliation when her pet projects went down like 10 sinking ships. He knew what was coming and he said I’m out! Don’t you know he woke up in that $60 million home every day realizing that he had married a woman so insatiable that she felt even that needed renovations and his life was being consumed by a vanity project that she simply HAD to tell. He must have spent every single day of his life saying to himself how in the world did I get back here again!!! The one thing I know for sure is it that Ben ain’t ever going back. He finally had all of those ghosts and all those doubts from 20 years ago confirmed once and for all.
