Jon Jones is the greatest Mixed Martial Artist. Think about this: Jon Homes moves like Demetrius Johnson but outweighs DJ by almost 100lbs! Few are in the GOAT conversation. And even fewer weigh more than 185lbs because the larger guys rarely carry such graceful maneuverability into the heavier weight classes. Jon Jones, despite his size, despite his extra-athletic issues and now despite his age, moves about the Octagon like a flyweight. JJ is the GOAT!

@@burnknuckles5906 i can't argue to much with DJ opinion but I still give the higher IQ to Jon in a fight. He beats most fighters with the techniques they are best at and he massacres anyone he is rematching. And I think Fedor was the best heavyweight back then and he was incredible but come on he isnt beating Jon or Aspinall the game has evolved way to much. @@jesusisking9171 I can't argue that he isn't good, he is definitely better than most. But I don't consider him a goat like Fedor, DJ and GSP. Jones has an insane reach advantage to begin with. Drug rules were changed just to keep him in the ring, all the illegal eye pokes, knees and cheap tricks were ignored by referees, he was given fights with washed out champions just to prove him great, and if all these things didn't work he just wins by a unanimous decision (Reyes). He has every advantage you can imagine, that's why you will never see him against someone like Tom Aspinall. Even Khabib is more of a goat than him, at least he defeated some champions in their 'prime' and made it look easy without any unfair advantage or cheap tricks.

@@ctrudeau55 in sure i know more about mma than you and regardless of all that you mention, Jon is the goat. If you knew as much about fighting as you claim, youd understand PEDs in mma are as common as breathing, especially in Jons era, and they allow for a more exciting product overall. Look at all the known "clean" guys, they've all been journeymen. Guys that have really, REALLY taken their careers seriously, with massive drives to win titles, have taken PEDs, whether caught or not, and several of the very best have been caught, such as Jon, Anderson, etc. Gyno Izzy, Khabib and russians in general. GSP is my fav fighter of all time and outspoken about steroids, but id be naive to think him, DJ, Aldo, havent taken substances in their careers. These super successful guys also have the money and resources to afford the best plans and doctors and drugs and anti-test / ways to get around it, etc. Every now and then you have a flub-up, like with Jon, TJ, Chael....guys get too comfortable after getting away with it for a long time. And thats not to even mention whatever corruption and payoffs exist within the organizations and commissions and what not. MMA is the farthest thing from a clean sport

Jon Jones has Narcissistic Personality Disorder, in my humble opinion. Narcissists are usually addicts, their substance of choice is alcohol and coke(or stimulants). This is in the scholarly literature btw. Over half of those with NPD are addicts. They also have a tendency to self destruct due to the standard of perfection they set for themselves. It becomes overwhelming and no matter how great they may be, they’ll always feel like a failure or a fraud. They also oscillate between states of grandiosity and vulnerability, so when they feel low, they usually go for stimulants to boost them back up. They usually have interactions with the law, getting arrested and having records. They also have a False Self, a projected image of perfection that almost always conflicts with reality. It also stems from unfair pressure set on them as children, so the False Self will usually represent an object of perfection that would be appeasing to their parents. Jon’s False Self is the projected image of the all good, all moral, all kind, all loving spiritual authority who puts Christ above all. This is his way of trying to please his parents(father is a pastor). This projected image also conflicts with reality, because he’s an addict, a rageful person, unhinged, deeply disturbed, has run ins with the police, hit and runs, domestic violence, etc etc. I don’t say all of this to take shots at Jon, because he’s my favorite fighter. Always has been and always will be. It’s just an observation from a psychology enthusiast and someone who suffers myself, so I get it.

He might not like them. The things he liked to do were more similar to the things I used to do. I just never liked opiates hardly at all for some weird reason though. I genuinely dislike the feeling so much I generally prefer pain over it.

Jones had a decent first run against the older generation of ppl who didn’t have gyms when they started. Then spent 2013-19 doing rematches, steroid testing rules changed to allow him to fight. The when his generation came along he had close fights. Left and got fed a guy who’d been training for 3 years after avoiding 15 million to fright Francis. The least active champ of all time. I don’t know if this is gonna come out like I want it too but Jones being a terrible person outside the sport actually makes me like him more in a way. He’s definitely the greatest MMA fighter to ever do it, but all of his issues he’s had outside of the octagon just shows that he’s human, he goes through shit just like the rest of us go through shit, and he has did some horrible fucking things that I’m not saying is okay, but when I see Jon now it looks like he’s trying to be better, and that he’s trying to be a “good guy” which I can respect. easily my favorite fighter of all time, and the GOAT

But he does have his reach. Part of life. Not really any less fair than being born with a higher IQ that translates to natural fight IQ. Besides the practice and work, all other aspects are just luck really and it wouldn't make sense to say the opposite about someone, "Like take away their fight IQ and they lost twice. No reach." That just doesn't work. Wins are wins. The failed tests are another issue.

In the Octagon's harsh embrace, a clash of titans, bone and grace. Jon Jones, the lion, sleek and strong, a predator where he belongs. But Miyagi, the bonsai's might, eyes serene, a hidden light. The bell tolls, a primal roar, Jones strikes first, lightning to the core. Elbows fly, a whirlwind's dance, Miyagi parries, gives him chance. Then, quick as wind through cherry leaves, a crane kick soars, the fighter weaves. But Miyagi's palm, a whisper soft, deflects the blow, leaves Jones aloft. Suspended, eyes wide with surprise, Jones tastes defeat in Miyagi's eyes. A gentle touch, a whispered word, the lion's fury, now unheard. Balance shifts, the tide turns slow, Miyagi's foot, a falling snow. Jones crumples, form in disarray, the bonsai master wins the day. The crowd erupts, a joyous sound, Miyagi bows, humility profound. For victory, in ancient lore, lies not in power, but in the core. So let this tale a lesson be, in every fight, find harmony. For strength is found in nature's grace, and wisdom whispers, "Find your space."

He may have been the best Heavyweight in PRiDE FC, but that's not as nearly as impressive as you think. I, in good faith, could never rate him above Stipe Miocic, Daniel Cormier or even Francis Ngannou at this point... in terms of Heavyweights...they all have more remarkable resumes than Fedor...and that's saying something. Especially considering that implicitly comparing him to Jon Jones who's resume is essentially unmatched.
