I’ve opened up plenty of Generations and can say, again, it’s a generous set and this is an insane amount of hits. Are they all crazy valuable? No, but they doubled up on the bigger cards (Pikachu, Sylveon, Flareon full art).

That miscut Flareon will fetch a premium that's a substantial hit. You def get more hits than usual with a set like this as there is a sub-set called the radiant collection.

This would have been an overall disappointing video back when these were new. The only meta hit from the whole set was Jolteon EX. You had trouble giving away radiant collection hits. That full art Flareon was about $3 at the time.

One thing pokemon never disappoints is definitely the artwork. This entire set might be complete bulk, but the print status, scarcity of sealed product, and the cards being pretty definitely help, although I still think they're overvalued in the market.

How to gauge value on PSA 10's. A guide for Rudy. 1) you look at the value the card is selling at without a slab. 2) you go out and stretch your arms in the beautiful sun. 3) you look at the value of graded examples at grades 6 through 9.5. 4) you have a cup of coffee and think about life. 5) you say F it, and charge whatever the f you want preferably 4 to 5x what one graded 10 sold for in the past 6) nap and repeat

Those Sylveon's are $600 each GM10, the full art Flareon EX is ~$1000. Everything else is $15-$20 and some $50 unless I'm missing something.

In Japan they released the set as, pokekyun. Every single card is holo with different patterns and completely different texture to it. I have a box opening of it that is private. Western market was changed by a lot and the holos are much different and kept some of the art borders and accents on some of the cards. The charms and accents are on every card in the Japanese set.

You have reverse slot, rare slot and 2 radiant collection slots in each pack with higher pull rates so you definitely have a higher chance at pulling crazy cards but this really was a good opening aswell, flareon full art and mega Charizard are the 2 best cards in the set, with holo charizard, sylveon full art and pikachu full art up there aswell.

Its really a mixture of how hard to grade the cards are, collectibility (artwork, popular pokemon, etc), demand/hype. Prices can get crazy when a psa 10 charizard only has a 100-150 population. Look at the Mega charizard Ex 108/106 for example, still a modern card but fetching a nice price. Even better examples in the NEO series.

The graded flareons alone pretty much make up the value for the sealed packs (4 regular ex's and the other art ~$2k) - then the miscut could go bonkers just because collectors lol - Everything else are pluses which is bonkers.

One of the reasons this set is so expensive now is because the pull rates were nice due to them being either 2 or 4 packs per box depending on what boxes you got. But it has to be the art on the radiant collection they added in that just made this set so nice, plus I think they have one of the best Pikachu cards ever printed, was the whole reason why I bought so many of these boxes back in 2016 just to pull the full art Pikachu. Sensation set.

Yes, the pull rates for generations were high. No booster boxes were available for this product. iirc only elite trainer boxes, display boxes with a promo card came with a couple of packs, and 20th year anniversary super collection had theses packs.

Even though Generations has alot better pull rates than regular sets I don't see how you cant absolutely love to see it opened. Beautiful cards. PSA 10s of alot of these cards even with the increased pull rate run a couple to a few hundred bucks. Generations doesn't have the best print quality either. Generations is just still very underrated.

The energies in this set aren't in any particular order they're just treated as commons and in any of the common slots. The pull rate is higher due to the subset and having more slots for hits. You could still find the mythical boxes these packs came from for $10-20 in 2020.
