The Sexplanations community has been so amazing to me. You've afforded me a fun and consistent way to share my passion with the world and eat and have a warm, dry, shelter. I wanted to pay forward so I asked you to partner with me on a service project called the Sexplanations Road Tour. Over five months (now 6) thousands of people across 39 states and 5 countries. We gave sex education away and rallied for those who joined us to reach out even further and continue the effort. It was incredible -- more than words and pictures can explain. That being said, it was important to me that we share some of the experiences we had with you to show my heart-exploding gratitude for all of your generosity and curiosity.
Thank you!

There are lots of comments about missing us on the tour. We tried very hard to reach people -- Patreon, Facebook, Sexplanations.com, Twitter, email. I know that it is frustrating we missed each other. It may be so frustrating that cognitive dissonance kicks in and you start to think that Sexplanations isn't really that important or you don't care as much as you thought. I understand this but I don't want this to be the case. Instead can you trust that I did my very best to let people know I was coming and I too am really sad I didn't get to meet you? I would have loved to have packed houses of all of you. I care so much about you! Please be gentle with me and the tour and yourselves. It didn't work out the way we'd hoped but it was still really positive and you'll always have me here.

I am sad but I understand that it takes so much to do this! I wish I paid a little more attention when you announced you where going on a road tour. I would have come to some Houston or San Antonio meet ups... maybe you can do it again at some point in a couple of years, as everyone needs as much sex education as possible! I’ve been watching you for years, introducing my mother, and brother to you... thank you for this I hope you had a blast... maybe you can do a reproductive rights tour where you go the the states that have the most restrictive policies! I know Texas is top ten :(

I currently don't make enough (unless I get promoted at work), but next year the minimum wage goes to $13.50. Whether it happens then or sooner, once I make enough I want to fund a trip to Sheri's ranch in Nevada. I could build a bond with someone that'll lead to something that could allow me to explore the sexual desires I wish to, but if not then I want to go somewhere where I can do that for certain. As an autistic, maintaining a normal friendship is hard enough, let alone something far more intimate. If I manage to finance that trip, visit Sheri's and have the experiences I've been hopeful for, I'll remember to thank you Dr. Doe for introducing that location to me.

Can you talk about how medication effects sexuality? Or how to talk to a doctor about how medication affects and individuals sexuality? I tried to use various birth control methods and I found that I struggled to talk to doctors and nurse practitioners about the severity of my side effects on birth control. When I was on depo, I had consistent bleeding longer than normal and they kept telling me it was a normal side effect on the birth control. It wasn't until I started tracking my cycle and showing my results that my side effects were not within healthy range. It was not normal to be bleeding for a month straight after the 4th shot, and it was not normal to constantly feel tired and drained. I had to physically showed them on an app (clue) to prove that what I was experiencing was not normal side effects. Thank you!

Wow, great video. I am one of the 1:9 and I think it is closer to 20% who get prostate cancer. Not only that, MINE CAME BACK, as it does for almost 50% of the surgery patients. Also, while the surgeons call 5 years cancer free a success rate, the return sequence is outside that 5 years. It is closer to 7-10 years so it isn’t counted (much to the frustration of my Chief of Surgery brother.) Also, the follow up treatment is 6800 rads of beam radiation shot through your bladder! My brother says there is a reasonable possible I will need colon reconstruction later as a result of the radiation. Keep up the great work. Your channel answers questions that people don’t even know to ask!

This was so great to watch. As someone fairly aged, there isn't much these days that makes me smile or even tear up. But Dr. Doe you are so energetic an enthusiastic I don't know how you do it. I know everyone says this, but you are adorable :D As a straight white male who is a big supporter of equality for everyone no matter WHAT - its sometimes hard to discuss things (especially sexuality) with other people who seem to be so closed minded. But as you've shown, just talking and showing people facts (you know, FACTS aka TRUTH) can do wonders. Keep up the amazing work you and everyone working with you do. And I'm still so glad Hank and his brother brought you on years ago to do this. :)

Wow! That was quite a tour. Loved meeting you and the other attendees. As a mother I am encouraged that sex is becoming less taboo to speak about. I think it's important for our youth to feel comfortable talking about it and making sure their education is correct. The less taboo sex is and the more comfortable we are talking about it, I feel the less it can be used to shame others, especially victims.

This is so awesome! If you do decide to do a tour again, we'd love to have you here in Missouri! In Kansas City, where I'm based, there isn't really a generalized sex-positive culture, especially in the rural areas just outside of KC (I'm originally from one of those small towns). There are a few spaces and organizations where one can find a haven of sex-positivity--we have queer-focused music and arts organizations, a Center for Inclusion, the HIMM Project devoted to HIV and PrEP education and access, and a popular drag bar! Of course we also have great barbecue! haha Thank you for all you do 💜

Wow! You got a lot of traveling in in a very short time, got a lot done and had tons of adventure. If you ever make it back to Virginia Beach try to do it during the summer, you'll probably be more fortunate in spotting wildlife, many times wife and I have watched porpoises playing in the surf near the pier, the brief glimpse I had during this video told me the weather was overcast and cold, not really attractive for warm blooded mammals, even sea life because the sea close in to shore gets bloody cold.

You are a lot more relatable here than you were previously. A person can grow up in a red state, in a religious family...but not in the buckle of the Bible Belt. I grew up (and still live) there. It is a city in OK,USA. I guess my autism, and religious upbringing will always make me less sex-phyllic than most sex educators (the ones I've run into in College seem to be very pro-sex). I might always have more to do with the traditional yet pragmatic moderate-conservative Temple Grandin (even though I am kind of moderate left) than most sex educators. In the Bible Belt, people do not want to see explicit sex organs even depicted (sometimes even implied) in commercial, residential, or school districts.Doe encountered that (sadly). I like what Dr. Doe does, but....I also appreciate and respect great Sex Ethics educators, and great Sex Ethicists (not Jeremy Bentham, ha ha). Sex and Sex Ethics are separate things. There are some okay Sex Ethicists out there.

Lindsay, you remind me of the best combination of Zooey Deschanel, Miranda July, Emily Nagoski and Dr Meg John Barker.

I submitted a ballot for Poughkeepsie, New York, but I was unable to attend because I work night shifts. I had neglected to recommend collaborating with Vassar College, but I had a feeling that they would be a great source of attendance and inspiration! I am glad that the Sexplanations Road Tour was wonderful for everyone involved. Keep doing what you're doing!
