It was hugely empowering... and She TOOK IT! I'm SO GLAD she DID! I also return to this video time and again to watch her do that. She is AMAZING!

ABSOLUTELY... every time i watch this (usually every few months.. then 100x in one day :D ) he lights it up. a bummer this couldn't be captured for the soundtrack it is soooo much more invigorating and has so much more feeling than the official one.

It pops because the actor/singer in the movie they picke dof rthat part can't even shine his shoes. It's sad. I understand wanting a small person to play the role, but he can't sing at all. Or at least not at the level of the other singers. Another movie died at the hands of executives.

True!! He's amazing, honestly. I've sang with pianists before. And if they're not very professional, they often don't seem to get the fact that the singer is actually the quote unquote "director"; this man gets it, and that is quite clear. Now, don't get me wrong: I know that he must be professional, but I just loved seeing how he basically followed Kaela and went along with her and continued to do so even as the other accompanists joined in; that is the mark of an excellent accompanist. And of course, like someone else mentioned in this thread, he is really into it as well.
