Snitch is basically a task win, so I think it's fine to show in meeting since if Snitch finished all tasks and didn't get killed, the imposters were likely going too slow.

@@MaiaMirabell Hmm, if you've seen some of the old clips of offlinetv and friends, I think you'll like his personality a lot more, as he appears on stream as a super chill and adapting person. Since among us isn't his main game, I'm sure he's a lot more nervous; probably think hafu's morning lobby as a competitive high-iq lobby and him being more newer to the game makes him constantly worry about not messing up / letting his imposter teammate down. Unfortunately, that probably also results in showing less personality.

I disagree with everyone saying snitch is op, especially in this instance. They have it set to 12 tasks and the killers were only killing once per round. Steve had arrows pointing to him when he had one task left. Both imposters were near him. Edison didn’t understand the arrows I guess and killed someone else giving Steve a chance to report. If he just killed Steve no one would be saying it’s op. In other lobbies snitch usually gets killed before they can reveal imposters and that’s with only 7 or 8 tasks on. I wonder if people will think imposter roles like poisoner and swooper are op or will they have no problem since they favor the imposters.

I agree in this instance. For lobbies like this with so many tasks, Snitch is not OP. The chances of them dying if the impostors kill quickly enough are high, and once they are revealed then it's usually game over. So for this case, I think I prefer the arrows and the red names in meeting. For lobbies with less tasks and slower killers, then I think just pointing arrows is fine.

you're right, a snitch win requieres A LOT of luck, in this instance steve was lucky that he didn't get killed and that edison killed someone else at the end. he also got lucky that dd was the transporter and had decided that tping steve wasn't fun anymore lol

Snitch also gets imposters to speed up killing, especially in a lobby like this one where they usually hold tasks.

There's a fundamental point you're missing that makes your argument misguided: if every crew just plays like a snitch from the outset, the crew wins as fast as the snitch can out both imposters, without even needing to get to a meeting at which an assassin might be able to guess other players' roles to steal the snitch's win. It's physically impossible for the snitch to be "OP" no matter how the lobby is balanced, because the snitch's ability is always, ALWAYS worse than game theory optimal crew gameplay. In all cases, the onus is just on the imposters to kill faster.

Snitch gets pulled off less than once a session in this lobby. They've been playing modded for 3 or 4 weeks (i cant remember) and its happened twice. Back in the day, when they had a lobby almost every day, Snitch would pull out a win once a week at most. It's definitely fine for this lobby as-is. It basically only happens in scenarios like this when imposters are killing really slow

not true. i remember when it didnt show in meetings at all but vision was slightly higher and people still did their tasks. i think with lower vision imposters have an easier time but pay a bigger price if they take too long

I was watching this from Dumbdog's pov: @9:15 meeting round both Edison and Kimi got cleared (falsely cleared by Hafu surprisingly). So I thought a killer was always between Annie Steve and Janet, and as the subsequent meetings went it seemed likely to me the killer is more Janet than Steve. Had Steve not been able to finish snitch tasks I would have always voted Janet there.

My personal opinion: Playing once a week instead of daily is working a lot for the quality of the game. The games are fresh, and no one is really able to figure out the repeated patterns of other players if there are any (the ones which we call meta-gaming), because of which everyone is getting clears wrong (like Hafu mis-clearing Edison); which means you have to rely a lot on data and logic instead of random hunches and voice tone clearing.

Snitch is effectively just sit a task win but only one person needs to do it. It would be kinda cool if Snitch could only see one in the meeting, probably the one that was closest to them before the meeting. But they can see arrows to both. That way they have to survive to 2 meetings.

Dude!! That card swipe fail and t he n Steve running from BOTH imposters… nearly shit myself when the report went up… I thought they got him… oh man I was dead laughing!! “Oh, my god it is Edison..” Dude that part was funny…. I couldn’t breathe for a bit… DDog trolling 5up was a nice bonus to this round. Maybe with snitch in game they see both arrows but in the meeting they have only one imposter confirmed? Or maybe get a vent ability after completing all tasks so they atleast get a chance to escape? I think those two would be fun to try. I know Steve has been aware of the channel but it just makes me so happy to have these snippets of him actually talking to the channel and viewers. Fav task? Wires :)

Agreed 100% with Steve. The 'classic' Snitch rules requiring you to still figure out the players is way better since it allows room for dynamic counterplay, and allows for the Jester to still have a shot. Exodia-like game mechanics are never as fun.

Snitch does seem a bit OP as a general rule between not being able to be guessed after finishing tasks and seeing names in meetings. However, another comment has the right of it where for this lobby, with how limited the vision is, that effectively means you'd always have to wait until AFTER a meeting to see the impostors semi-reliably without red names, which would make snitch very unfun to play as. So I think for this lobby it's fine, in general, maybe a bit strong. I also think it really comes down to that a snitch win may not feel sufficiently different as a viewer from a task win, but it's good to keep pressure on the impostors and feels good to play as (see Steve's reaction in this video).

With snitch, I don't like it showing the imposters on meetings. It allows a task win by just one crew finishing tasks. On the other hand it is ridiculous if you can only see by arrows while the imposters can also see you with better vision. I think snitch shouldn't be able to see imposters on meetings but imposters shouldn't have a pointing arrow on the snitch. Imposters should get just a notification when snitch has 2 tasks left and another when 1 task left and the last notification when all done. Also snitch's arrows should have a cooldown at the start of rounds to prevent seeing the imposters just by calling a meeting.

No one would use the role in this case. It is very rare that snitch finishes their tasks in time to reveal, especially when there are many other groups that use this mod. They have so many tasks in this group and the killers were super slow killing.

I think he mostly got lucky that they were slow-killing and buttoned quickly to give him a chance to do card swipe again safely. He messed up card swipe multiple times (I usually do it on the first try, I learned the speed), and he didn't do storage with people around it - that's usually safer from my experience. He did, though, attach himself to someone on lights for protection/know how killed him if he died, towards the end, though, which I think was a good move. Also, rushing tasks towards the end when people aren't around is a good idea - 'cause that might have given him away.
