Honestly says a lot about how good these players are. Probably some of the best TvZ from Clem that we've ever seen, and it was still a really close match. Serral gives no room for mistakes.

Its such a small thing, but I love how Clem has a Nydus incoming in his base and lands to Vikings. And then pulls 2 SCV's to help kill it and kills it with 0.1 seconds to go (twice). Im not sure how many players in the world know how many landed Vikings and SCVs you need to kill a Nydus, and he just throws it out routinely.

The expression of playstyles in sc2 has been my favorite thing about the game for a long time, no other game, even Brood War can match it. Clem's TvZ vs Maru vs Gumi vs Cure vs Heromarine vs Byun are all so vastly different and unique. And to see two styles that clash so well together in Serral / Clem. Its something else.

What an incredible game! You may like it very much, this is what peak SC2 looks like. The culmination of more than a decade of skill! Everything was a testament to the incredible dedication players have showed through the years: The micro was perfect, between splits, retargets, lings faking mines out, burrow blocks, lift and fungal... The macro was on point, but more incredibly, the strategy was something I've rarely seen before, especially that incredible read on the lurker drop!

Clem and Serral put on one of the best shows I have ever seen in Game 3. Serral was on his A game too, and would have absolutely slaughtered anybody else with his play. Clem was UNREAL in this entire tournament. He deserves this victory.

Reminds me of a game from the last few years. Maru v Dark in GSL. I think they met in the semis (maybe) but one of their games was just an absolute slugfest, back and forth. I don't even remember the winner, I just remember how evenly matched they were and that it was hugely entertaining game.

As crazy as it is to nitpick Serral, I feel like he had the opportunity to go double spire before he began the attempted broodlord transition. Could have had 2/2 or even 3/2 corruptors in that fight where he narrowly lost the air and that could have made the difference - at that point he could have afforded it as well. An absolute blast to watch, though. So fantastic to see players of such skill facing off against each other. Crazy how well Clem has adapted his playstyle to suit lategame more.

I also have to wonder about the Ultra-switch when he'd had already seen Clem invest into libs and ghosts. But, like you said, that's just nitpicking.

I think he wanted to save the gas for banelings and lurkers to continue harassing. It was a relatively slow transition, but the whole time he was churning out units to use with nydus’ and base kills to keep Clem from turtling up with static d and liberators.

those 3 siege tanks were god damn hero siege tanks. their kill count must have been in the hundreds! like those 3 siege tanks alone helped defend the bottom side for so long, then they were the unbreakable wall at the top side. immaculate positioning of his tanks.
