@@oneinca This small island can't support the refugee crisis alone. The locals are struggling for years, EU is ignoring the situation. The capital of Vathy hosts more than 10k illegal immigrants while the locals are less than 8k.These people, both locals and refugees deserve better. The jungle part where the refugee camps are spread, was created in a non proper way, they are literally burning the forest every now and then in order to set up their tents. This is only a few of the problems. If you don't know the situation, better to keep silent.

Some get rich with human misery. These are the moral perpetrators. They create the problem to get rich. Think about who the beneficiaries of this situation are and you will find the creators. Greece for many years faced the crisis alone and instead Europe gave funds to Turkey, that promotes migrants to the shores of Europe. But you, who created this video, took a side without asking the locals to see how they live from 2015 onwards. You came by plane, you left by plane. I do not know if you helped the situation or aggravated it. From a local ...

The reporter is french - i have watched 2 minutes and started reading the comments - it's SIMPLE for a FRENCH person to judge Greece, Sicily and Malta for the so called terrible conditions these people are living in BUT these - the FRENCH INCLUDED - are the SAME PEOPLE who don't want these people in THEIR countries!!!! They want Greece and Sicily and Malta to house ALLLLL these THOUSANDS of migrants whilst they make sure that they get NONE - or just a handful SELECTED ones - onto their land!!! People escaping war are TRUE REFUGEES YES but the people coming to Europe these days are NOT - mostly - escaping WAR! They are escaping POVERTY and to flee from poverty, AMAZINGLY they pay THOUSANDS!!!! I used to believe that these people were people who need help but this is nothing but a lie now. If these people were so POOR then HOW do they pay THOUSANDS to cross over and why do we get just MEN - MOSTLY IN REALLY GOOD SHAPE! - whilst the women and children are left BEHIND in their countries?!? The people who need help are NOT the migrants coming by boats but the ones LEFT BEHIND if anything! Who do not afford a BAG OF RICE if anything NOT these migrants who pay THOUSANDS to come to Europe and claim they're in need!!!! (I am NOT talking about people from WAR-TORN countries who flee with their FAMILIES and are in REAL need of shelter due to fear)

One has to ask, if we take the people of troubled nations, will they bring the troubles of those nations with them? I have no ill feelings or hatred towards these unfortunate people, but we have to protect Europe first. The best thing for everyone is for NATO to stop destabilising Arab countries, and allow these people to live in their own homes. Never forget that it was the US, the UK, France, and other NATO allies who funded, trained, and armed the "moderate rebels" who destroyed Syria*. * Although quite a lot of these "Syrians" look an awful lot like North Africans to me.

Sad for the ppl who are real war refugees & tried other countries too. I don't agree with the Principle that people ahould be allowed to Force Entry & Settlement - that is totally impractical & kinda unethical (try the forced part it in your own life, or an echo community (ie run for benefit of current community). Entry & Settlement is a gift, and then good. If they can freely leave & be accepted or rejected quicker thats good too.

if the French and other European nations are SO CIVILISED and KIND and UNLIKE the Greeks and Maltese and Sicilians, then why don't THEY start welcoming and taking in the THOUSANDS of migrants Malta, Sicily and Greece are having to accommodate? The TRUE REFUGEES are always GRATEFUL for the help they get because they were REALLY in DESPERATE situations but these people who are complaining of the food or shelters or things taking long: these people are NOT fleeing from WAR or FEAR! They are simply ECONOMIC MIGRANTS seeking a better future for themselves through ILLEGAL entry into a country under the GUISE of being a victim / refugee!!! The TRUE refugees are people like that Syrian WITH HIS FAMILY who is clearly fleeing from WAR and THESE are the people who SHOULD be helped! Not people POSING as refugees! And if FRANCE and GERMANY and so many other DEVELOPED RICH nations are so KIND AND CIVILISED AND BETTER than the rest of Europe then they should ACT like it and start TAKING IN these people - EN MASSE like Malta, Sicily and Greece are FORCED to do. Germany,. France, Switzerland and what not take a FEW migrants whom they CHOOSE! THAT'S HOW KIND AND CIVILISED THEY ARE!!!!! People who NEED HELP - YES BY ALL MEANS SHOULD THEY BE HELPED - but migrants who pay THOUSANDS to get to Europe from Africa just for a better future for themselves and leaving their families behind: these are NOT refugees. These are MIGRANTS- ilegal migrants who get FREE housing and FREE food and who COMPLAIN nonetheless!!!! (While locals have to PAY RENTS and BUY food and BARELY MANAGE!!)

I can't believe a lot of the reactions I am reading here. These people are not bad. They need help. They say so. Again and again. It is the system that is the problem. We are not different from the people in these camps. The only difference is that they have been through so much pain and fear already and they deserve a good life more then anything. Many are traumatized so it is not surprising that some react with aggression. But really. They need help. Everyone should be able to understand that. Right?

Oh yes, we are way different than them. Yes, they are bad. Most of them haven't been through jacksht. 90% of them are nothing but economic migrants or parasites hoping to leech of the european benefits etc. I've been working in the camp of Samos for almost 2 years now. Trust me, you haven't seen what I've seen. As cruel as it might sound, we're talking about animals, not people. Laws and the constant threat of deportation are the only things that keep them somewhat in check. That's about it. It's pretty easy to type some random bs about kumbaya and crap when you have no bloody clue of what's actually going on
@sikusher11 ай бұрын
All European countries start closing borders and talk about deportations the last month or so. Denmark did that almost 3 years ago. Sweden, same. Now France and Germany and other countries follow. Greece on the other hand roleplays as the Mother Theresa of Europe despite the financial crisis of 2009 that lasted for a decade.
