It amazes me when you talk about how the narcissist works you. I've had ALL of them thrown in my face. That horrid feeling that you can't do ANYTHING right, or nothing is ever enough. That sinking feeling in your heart, lungs and stomach. Total worthlessness. Almost numb. Devastating depression. You feel abandoned and alone. Today I feel hope. Today I have a place to move to get the hell out from under this sick, debilitating behavior. One more week of avoiding her so as to stop the abuse. I won't discuss with her that I know now what she is. I've learned it will make no difference. She'll deny and defend herself with some lie or other dismissal. I'll look for the green flags. Had a few good ones yesterday. But I cannot ignore or forget the RED ones. Never again. Follow my gut. Never again. Thank You Andrew.

Keep going no matter how much it hurts to walk away. I realized toward the end of my marriage that I quit engaging because I simply didn’t have the energy to keep playing the games. Why play when the match was fixed against you from the beginning? I no longer cared if he was angry, hurt, or inconvenienced by my lack of engagement. Narcissists get what they give. We never asked to be manipulated, devalued, and discarded so it isn’t us who caused the relationship to fail.

About phone conversations: I had always the feeling he wasn't listening when we talked on the phone. Sometimes he started talking to other people while talking to me on the phone without explaining to me what was going on , letting me feel completely... unimportant. And the long silences. Full of anxiety. I had never had similar phone conversations with anybody else in the world. Anybody experienced the same thing? I'm curious. Thank you again Andrew for making us thinking about green flags, that's so precious! 🙏🧡

This was a wonderful 'session'! It made me feel so light and free and joyous. I had 16 years with a narcissist, and now have had 30 years without him. Thank you for making me more aware of just how relaxing and joyful a thing that is. May I add something? When you are finally free of the narcissist, learn not to "narc" on yourself! I am trying to be less aware of doing something that HE wouldn't approve of, and then letting that inhibit me. Getting his voice out of my head is still something I still struggle with, but your articles are really helping.

I got to restock my bar so when friends come over I can offer them a cocktail or beer and enjoy one myself at the end of the day. There was to be NO alcohol in the house. My Narc was a fake alcoholic. He latched onto a "professionals only" AA group & conned several out of a lot of $, and used wanting to drink as leverage to get what he wanted. I suspected he wasn't a drunk because I've been with alcoholics my whole life, have their traits down pretty pat. (And several instances proved it). When I filed for divorce "I caused him to drink again"! He was surprised that tactic didn't work in changing my plans. And in the beginning I told him I have a problem with sweets --- now I no longer HAVE to keep ice cream & cookies in the house! Looking forward to experiencing green flags in a possible new relationship down a better path. If not, I'll enjoy them by myself! Great video Andrew!!

Thank you Andrew, hopefully this day will come when I can regain confidence again... I notice this when interacting with my parents and even exchanging messages with the children, we're missing each other and it's painful to see them like this, my Son sent me a message tonight to tell me that his mum is giving him the silent treatment because she tried to force a cv test on him (I'm personally against all these things, but each to their own and it's about choice) The thing is that it sounds like she's looking for new supply, many times when I tried grey rock and she couldn't get her way, she would have our daughter in tears and I know that there will come a day when the children resent her... Oh, I finally got a message back today from her (2 days) and she has conveniently cancelled the meeting with her parents and my parents present for tomorrow, deep down I knew that this would be the case. I replied back that it wasn't a problem and to please stay in touch, short and sweet because I know that she is looking for a reaction... She can stall for time all she wants, but I'm going to miss our kids more each day and I know that they will too, I haven't mentioned her to the kids or asked how she is because I know that she checks our daughter's phone, but I tell them that I love them every single day. Have a great weekend and sending out hugs to everyone.
@christine113472 жыл бұрын
It's so difficult when children are involved. You're doing great. Keep being present for them. Show them empathy. By reminding them everyday that you love them and not talking negatively about their mom you are providing them with a safe space to share their feelings with you. I know it is hard but in time they will see their mom for what she is. I am hoping you have a visitation schedule setup with them. Keep grey rocking. Sending you prayers of strength and peace. 🙏💪🕊️✨

@@christine11347 Thank you so much, I'm just so grateful to find channels like these and people like yourself to talk to, it's all very mixed right now, thankfully I started to learn about narcissism back in 2019, but I never believed that my wife would go to this level of destruction and I'm really only beating myself up about our children right now... It's funny because our home was something that I put sweat, blood and tears in to buy and maintain and I spent years putting love into it on my own, I really did, but at the same time, over the years I learned that I couldn't plant a shrub or tree here or there and most of them withered and died in their pots because my wife would insist that it wasn't going to happen, just like photos in the home, there wasn't any, because they would be taken down and put into the cupboard, once I took the most beautiful photo of our daughter and had it blown up into a sepia print and I hung it on the wall, my wife took it down, put it in the cupboard and threw, literally somersaulted stuff on top of it and damaged it... I know it's probably hard to believe, but her traits have left me scared and yet, when I confronted her I was always made out to be either over reacting or nasty and aggressive... What I now feel over our home has nothing to do with money or material things, in a kind of weird way I actually feel free, but my heart is bleeding for the children because she is playing a game between myself and them and it would break my heart to have them look me in the eyes within years to come and say to me "Dad, why didn't you warn us?" There's a thing going on with our daughter especially and I always could feel my wife's rage within, we'd bake cakes together (I'm terrible at baking except making pizza), go to the shops, I taught her to drive btw (on private land) We shared so much in common as she is a petrolhead to the core... My wife hated this and would find ways to ruin our experiences together, instead of being happy for a Daddy and Daughter day out, it was so in my face at the time and I never even realised what was happening, maybe I should start a channel myself on awareness because the list goes on and on and I just hope that some soul out there can benefit from this information x

I love this video, I've been watching so many videos about what, why, how narcs operate, which is enlightening and has opened my eyes to the dark truth, but it's also sad to listen to, it is vital to learn, but heartbreaking to discover the 'love-bomb' was a lie, a strategy. This video is refreshing, happy, like a new flower sprouting! 😁 Thank you so much! We are survivors!

I agree 💯. Life is meant to be lived. We absolutely have to understand narcissism to become educated and to begin to heal. Many times though it takes you down a rabbit hole in which there are a lot of tears. By mixing in encouraging positive messages of hope, healing and encouragement we are reminded that our chains have been removed and there is a whole big beautiful world out there that is waiting for us to live our best life to the fullest now that we are free. This video reminds us that the narscistic relationship was a part of our past that taught us necessary lessons that we learned but it will never define us. Nor does it have any place in our present or future.☘️💚🌱🌺🌷🌸🌹🌻🌼💐

He, after the Love bombing, searched for things we are different and made a drama out of it!!!! Always telling me that we are to different that this could work…. I was so under Pressure because of that! And i could not talk is over…, if I try he pulls his head against the wall… that made me stop talking… the worse about all was that he told me after the discard that he always was under such a pressure because I reactes uncalculated… that he could not handle Any more…. What??? He turned it completely around what Happens… unbelievable

Yes they are 'half way out the door'with most every conversation. Yes being IN THE MOMENT would be priceless! Some things I will do, when the flags start to turn all green...My mind will be free, no fog will overshadow me. My heart will be light, my woes won't consume me. My soul will become a space that is light, airy and serene... I will check out, Habitat for Humanity, take more day trips exploring the planet, spend weekends cooking my favorite food, take spontaneous drives to the beach, for a walk and to breathe in the salt air( for my own health). I will eat ALL of my healthy food without complaints and be grateful to have it. Lose 10 lbs worth of BS instantly! I will plant more flowers and pluck more weeds ( out of my life) I will keep a space open for creativity. I will swing on a hammock for an hour. Visit more people. Volunteer. Learn something new, shouldn't we all, each and every day? I will give myself the grace of knowing I am perfectly imperfect, and be okay with it. Thank you for another thought provoking message. I look forward to connecting with more and more people in this community.🌩️🌧️🌈☀️🌺🌠💜

The rushing every minute of the day even at work to get finished, to rush home to feeds pets, to rush to get bathed, to rush to order food, to rush to narc condo headquarters, to rush its on time delivery still warm. Then the dining was anything but enjoyable. Poor girl must have been starving as you witness the inhaling of food. Then hurry hurry, " I've got to return what I got....last night". Repeat that ten times. Point is Andrew is dead on right. Thinking back I'm amazed to this day of those subjugated couple years. Its a wonder you live through it. I think when the supply is good, I mean really good, the opportunity for a mega dose of adrenaline & dopamine is so addicting, its a spin out of control until someone implodes. Usually the supply. Worn out, used up, done. Above all I recognize this was my fault, not hers. Never allow yourself to be used in exchange for some future faking or a dysfunctional hug or for any reason. No matter what you've been through, a narcissist will make it worse. Yep, now its all green flags as any yellow flags keep you from seeing any red ones.

Hi Andrew. More powerful and guiding words from you. I would like to say that I really had to get to ground zero, examine and re-examine all of the debris left after the fire, before I could finally say, “well, I have looked everything over three or four times. Yup. The proof is right here! He ‘s a malignant narcissist! It’s time to move on.” It’s the point of surrendering to what is, and moving in a new and far better direction. Once that bottom is found, real progress can be made. Could not have gotten here without your honesty, amazing integrity, and compassion for all of us who have gone through the fire.
